Post-Acne Scarring for African American skin (photos)

I am a 20 yr old African American male who suffers from post-acne hypertrophic scarring on the nose. What options are there for scar removal? I understand options may be limited due to my pigmentation, but are there still treatment options that can help smooth my nose?

Acne scars on nose.

Ok, I see quite a few of these. They are more common in darker skin patients. Now, hypertrophic scars are hard, and my treatment is with CO2 fractional with drip steroid injection. Works well.

The other type of scars are known as atrophic scars, and on the nose they can present as 'out pockets' or bulges - these are soft, and CO2 or RF Microneedling can help.

eMatrix is another option, however the settings need to by slightly higher than treating the face.

All the best

African American Skin and Scars

eMatrix is a fabulous "color blind" laser and can be used on all skin types.  I would recommend consulting a board certified dermatologist who has experience with that laser. Best, Dr. Green
