I am considering having lipo on a small area on my lower abs. I have a pooch just above my 12 year old tummy tuck scar. It's like the scar causes a bigger area to pooch out above it. I am otherwise thin. 5'5.5" and 125 pounds. How much time would I need to take off from singing/performing? Not dancing, but singing 4 hours moving around. I could get away with not lifting equipment as long as I need. How long to not schedule gigs?
Answer: Liposuction I would suggest giving yourself at least 1 weeks after liposuction. You will still be wearing compression garments up to 3 months, but should be able to perform. If you can, 2 weeks would be better.

Answer: Time off from singing after liposuction Hi mainemom, Thank you for your question. Most of the time, liposuction requires minimal downtime and very tolerable post-operative discomfort. With that said, I would estimate that you could return to singing in approximately 2 weeks from surgery. Most of the time, the worst discomfort is over at two weeks and I expect that you will be able to take deep 'belly breaths' during singing. I hope that this helps. Best of luck! -Roger Smith, MD, FACS

Answer: Required Information Hello; with a little Vaserlipo support; your current problem could be solved. As a duration, for 5 days taking a break from singing; it would be sufficient for you.

Answer: Recovery Typically patients can return to work about a week after liposuction. However it's common to wear a compression garment for 4 to 6 weeks to help manage swelling and support healing tissues. This could potentially impact singing and performing. Returning to exercise should be done gradually with most able to return to all regular activities after 6 weeks. Check with your surgeon to help determine what is best for you based on your planned procedure.

Answer: Liposuction recovery time This response was dictated. Using Word recognition. My apologies for any Grammatical errors There are a number of variables to determine what the recovery will be like from the procedure. The biggest variable is how aggressive the surgeon is with the procedure. Light handed gentle Liposuction is pretty easy to recover from, but if the procedure is heavy-handed, trying to remove as much fat as possible. Patient can be left sore for Much longer. Liposuction recovery is not that bad. Especially compared to a procedure like tummy tuck, which is known for having one of the hardest recoveries. I generally tell people they need about three days off work after Liposuction. Five days off work might be nice, but is it necessary for most people. Most people can do low impact daily activities within 3 to 5 days High impact activities, like running or sports take up to six weeks before patients. Feel no discomfort. Recovering is a gradual process so it’s difficult to set specific timeframe for when the people are recovered. In individual people also perceive surgical recovery very differently. Some patients get back to normal activities within a couple of days and other people want to take three months of disability. For what you describe I think a week or less should be more than adequate. Less than three days is probably not in your best interest. Delivery consistent quality Liposuction results is more difficult than most people realize. Personally, I generally avoid spa treating the abdomen. Doing so leaves people with an uneven fat distribution that doesn’t look good. Blending liposuction from treated to untreated areas, even if done, well, still creates a different appearance, which becomes fairly obvious even from longer distances in my opinion. A lot has to do with how much fat is removed and this intern depends on how skilled the provider is. The number of plastic surgeons truly mastered section is pretty small. Most plastic surgeons stinked are better at Liposuction than they actually are. I generally recommend patients be more selective than they may think necessary when it comes to looking for providers for this procedure. Liposuction results are permanent and reversible. I’ve done poorly people can be left disfigured. I generally recommend patients schedule in person consultations before having liposuction. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before, and after pictures of previous patients, who had similar body characteristics to your own period If you’re having only the lower abdomen treated than asked to see lots of before, and after pictures of other patients, who had the same treatment. An experienced plastic surgeon should have no difficulty showing you an impressive collection of results for whatever area you’re having treated. It’s also important to differentiate the different tissue variables that contribute to the appearance of the abdomen. The bulging of your abdomen can be related to tissue layers other than subcutaneous fat. Did you have a full tummy tuck with muscle tightening previously? Make sure you get a quality assessment so you’re not wasting money on procedures that don’t deliver quality outcomes. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
