Is itching near the drain tube the day after surgery normal? (Photo)

Question

I just had some scar tissue and implants exchanged. They gave me a drain on my left side. My surgery was yesterday morning so is it normal for my side to itch where the the tube is on the side?

Congratulations on your surgery! Itching near the drain site is not uncommon.  However it could be anything from minor irritation to allergic reaction.  It's best to speak with your surgeon for specific instructions.

Itching by the drain site?Congratulations on your recent surgery! drains can create itchiness. However since you just had surgery I would suggest that you contact your plastic surgeon for advice at least up until they 14. Right now, your incision site is still very sensitive, so it’s normal to have some itching in your drain site. Please consult your reputable and board-certified plastic surgeon on how you can relieve itching if it bothers you so much.
