I had a breast augmentation in 2020. About a year later, I noticed bottoming out. In 2025, I returned to my original surgeon. He agreed there was an issue and offered a $4,000 discount to do a revision with silicone implants and a mesh “internal bra.” At my 1-week post-op appointment, I expressed concern that my right breast wasn’t sitting the same as the left. I was reassured it would settle. However, since then (July 2025 to now), I’ve had five follow-ups because the right side hasn’t held. You can physically feel the mesh bunched up, and the breast is not supported properly. My surgeon’s current offer is another discounted revision, but I would still have to pay $3,700. My concerns: •I raised the issue at one week post-op. •I followed all post-op instructions carefully. •The mesh does not appear to have held as intended. •This would be my third surgery, and I’m being asked to pay again. My questions: When mesh fails to hold like this, is that typically considered a surgical complication or just an unfortunate outcome? In cases like this, is it standard for patients to pay again for correction? Would you recommend revision with the same surgeon, or seeking another opinion? Are there alternative techniques that might provide better long-term support? Emotionally, this has been very difficult. I just want to feel confident and stop feeling upset when I look in the mirror. I would really appreciate professional guidance on what is reasonable in this situation.
