I've had a Hemangioma (1inch) on my scalp since I was a baby... and never thought much of it because my hair covers it nicely. My normal dermatologist mentioned during a mole check that it is wise to have it surgically removed. Given the risk for a large scar - I was thinking of trying to find a plastic surgeon to perform the removal. Is this common? Is there a risk of the Hemangioma becoming cancerous because it is on my scalp? Is it normal to remove them later in life as a precaution?
