I treat hypertrophic scars with Melaquin PM for pigmentation, and a combination of IIT and laser for the thickening of the scars.

Dermabrasion in dark skin would have a higher incidence of pigment changes and possible worsening of scars. Internal cryotherapy (Cryoshape) has a better result than external cryotherapy( liquid nitrogen ) with much less risk of pigment changes
