TCA CROSS and other fractional energy devices for ice pick scars

Hard to tell with one photo, it maybe that you have more than ice pick scars-element of shallow box car scars as well.

Regardless, here is a link to TCA CROSS- one of the best methods for ice pick scar removal.

All the best

The majority of patients will have a collection of different scar types, and hence a tailored treatment METHOD will be best. Careful examination, especially under angled lighting with scar mapping will give you an understanding of what are the best options for your scars.

Superficial acne scars but with otherwise good skin

Your scars are relatively superficial. With less severe scars I would suggest less severe treatments. You can laser or deep chemical peels them but get them done in a less aggressive manner. We have a unique approach to acne scarring but you may not need this aggressive approach.

You may need several more laser treatments under higher settings to help with these scars.  eMatrix or Fraxel under a higher setting may be of benefit to you.  Bellafill injected into these scars lasts five years and can help as well.  Please consult an expert.  Best, Dr. Green

Fillers or Excision

There are several ways of treating "ice-pick" type acne scars.  The first is excision.  Using a small instrument, each ice-pick scar is excised and sutured with 1 or 2 sutures.  This leaves a small scar that is easily camouflaged with make-up.

Additionally, a technique known as sub-scission can be used either with or without fillers.   A product known as Bellafill is FDA approved for this.

Best of luck.
