Looking for doctors who can improve the appearance of my bulbous nose but keep the kind of round shape since it fits my face. I just want to debloat my nose and make it a bit less droopy.

Addressing the shape of your nose (especially the nasal tip) is actually one of the most common reasons people seek out and undergo a rhinoplasty. An open septorhinoplasty can best address both your aesthetic concerns and any functional issues with your nose. Yes, part of rhinoplasty can include debulking soft tissue of the nasal tip while also shaping the cartilages and providing tip support with grafts. I would also potentially consider seeing a dermatologist for low dose Accutane to help thin the skin. With tip-plasty it is possible to reduce the bulbousity (roundness and bulk) of the tip. The procedure is quick and can be done under local anesthesia. The swelling can take up to a year to completely resolve.

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. Cartilage grafts may also be used to help improve tip refinement. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

The nose is a three-dimensional structure, therefore a full set of facial photographs from all angles are required to make a determination about how best to proceed with a surgical closed rhinoplasty procedure. The bulbus nasal tip cartilages can be refined, the dorsal hump removed, and narrowing the bridge line with all of the incisions placed on the inside of the nose. No external incisions are required, no painful packing is required either. Digital computer imaging would also be helpful in the education process.
