Nose never returned to normal post pregnancy (photo)

There are many changes with pregnancy. Ligamentous laxity can affect stability of all weight-bearing joints from the pelvis and even in the nose. Many of these changes appear to be mediated by the hormone relaxin. Some smooth muscle may also be changed by progesterone (temporarily or permanently). The best option to change the nose in my opinion would be a rhinoplasty.

As far as I can see from your photos , you have nose tip collapsed, for this I recommend revision rhinoplasty surgery , and if you can send your photos from side and front profile with better light we can make true evaluation.

Hi! Thanks for your question and photos. During pregnancy, hormonal changes can lead to increased blood flow and fluid retention, which may cause the nose to appear wider or more swollen. In some cases, these changes do not fully resolve postpartum, potentially due to persistent soft tissue changes or alterations in the nasal cartilage and skin. Rhinoplasty can address changes in nasal width and shape, allowing for the reshaping of cartilage and soft tissues to restore the previous appearance. I recommend a consultation with a facial plastic surgeon who specializes in rhinoplasty. Hi, It is better for you to consult with your facial plastic surgeon who can examine you and give you opinion based on examination.

The hormones of pregnancy can make the skin of the nose lax and hence change the shape to a wider tip and nostrils. This can be corrected with alarplasty and tip-plasty. Both are easy in office procedures that can be done under local anesthesia.

Your tip has obviously widened and the cartilages have separated. You will need at least a tip rhinoplasty and perhaps even more depending on what your goals are. Your photographs are limited. I would need a side view to give you a more accurate answer. You may benefit from a lip lift. A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners.

We have seen a widened nasal appearance after pregnancy that can last 12 months or longer. At 2 and 1/2 years after your pregnancy, I don't think these are related. Please consider visiting with a reputable rhinoplasty specialist for an examination you could so you could see what might be best for you moving forward. Very likely that changes you observed are result of swelling and hormonal changes during and immediately after pregnancy. Only on the basis of in person evaluation, a board certified plastic surgeon, expert in rhinoplasty, would be able to give you better idea what treatment you should consider. Good luck.

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. Fascial grafts may also be used to help improve tip refinement. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.
