Is cartilage rhinoplasty suitable with a dorsal hump? Like for example, a patient doesn’t want to shave down the hump and instead make the nose bridge somehow “taller” with cartilage instead?

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hi, in certain cases augmentation rhinoplasty is preformed for selected cases. It is better for you to consult with a facial plastic surgeon who can examine you and discuss the surgical procedure and the post op recovery process.

Answer: Hump Usually the hump needs to be shaved down in order to access the cartilage vault. I would go see a board-certified plastic surgeon (with plastic surgery residency and aesthetic fellowship training) for a 3D preoperative consultation. This way the rhinoplasty can be simulated prior to the surgery to provide the patient a proper visual of the potential outcome.
