When using topical clindamycin gel, should benzoyl peroxide face wash be used before or after?

My derm has recently prescribe clindamycin for me. With benzoyl peroxide face wash. When exactly should I be using this face wash in order to avoid any bacterial resistance. I am currently on tretinoin so I don't want to over process my skin with all these strong ingredients.

Benzoyl peroxide wash

Thank you for your question. In my experience, cleansing the face with benzoyl peroxide wash prior to medication application works best. With that being said, benzoyl peroxide wash in conjunction with the topical medications you mentioned may irritate the skin causing redness, dryness, or burning/stinging sensations. I recommend you consult with your prescribing physician regarding your questions and concerns. Take care and good luck.
