If I got a breast reduction, will my breasts grow back with birth control?

Hello Charming846391.When we do a breast reduction, we take off part of your breast, which includes fat, and breast gland. The breast gland and fat remaining can always grow back again. For example, if you gain weight or get pregnant and breastfeed. But the amount of breast gland and fat that you have, will be much less than before surgery, so the final breast size will always be less, than if you don´t get a breast reduction.Let me know is you would like more information.

You should definitely consider a breast reduction which can usually be done with a minimal incision technique. In answer to your question - you will probably need a redo breast reduction in your 50 's or 60's as they will grow again. The biggest breast growth is with changes in your hormonal state - ie pregnancy, breast feeding, and then again in menopause. The OCP by itself usually is not a problem.

While there are different techniques used to perform this surgery, I prefer the vertical incision (lollipop pattern) breast reduction technique instead of the anchor scar pattern, which reduces more noticeable scarring than usual. Most birth control pills are a low dose and don't increase the size of breasts too much. You can discuss this with your gynecologist to see if there is a type less likely to affect your breasts.

From your description it sounds like you are a candidate for breast reduction. Any breast size increase you would experience from birth control would likely be minimal. However you may notice more significant growth from any future pregnancy, breastfeeding, or weight gain. I've included a video on breast reduction that I hope you find helpful.

A breast reduction removes both fat and glandular tissue. Birth control may cause some increased breast tissue hypertrophy (increase), it should not cause your breasts to enlarge that much after a breast reduction procedure. Weight gain (rare in a dancer) is the most common culprit for breast enlargement.
