I don't like my side profile and bulbous look What can it be done. I am just scared to look like Michael Jackson if I go for a nose job.
Answer: A rhinoplasty can change your nose in the direction you are seeking. More ... Don't worry about Michael. You protect against that by selecting your surgeon well. What I see for your nose is to narrow the tip and bridge, lower the bump on the bridge, elevate the tip, and bring the tip and entire nose back closer to your face, helping to make it less prominent. That last movement is called "deprojecting" the nose. How *much* to elevate or narrow the tip, or deproject the nose, or make other changes? We figure that out with morphs, well before surgery. I'd love for you to see some excellent professionally-designed morphs of what could possibly be done with your nose. Morphs could also help you identify better just what's bothering you, and help you set a goal for the rhinoplasty that's accurate for your tastes. Profile and three-quarter views would be particularly important in morphing your nose. (Side note: in my opinion, morphs should really be done by the surgeon, or he should direct an assistant as she makes the morphs. Morphs should be made with a constant eye to what actually *can* be done in surgery, for that particular nose, and the surgeon has that information and judgment best.) Finally, remember that rhinoplasty is an exquisitely difficult operation to get right, and you should only have surgery if you are able to make yourself very confident in your surgeon's skills. The changes that your nose needs require advanced techniques, and skill that most plastic surgeons don't possess with expertise. It's much better to not have surgery than to have inexpertly-performed surgery. Read my essay on how to stay out of trouble while selecting a rhinoplasty surgeon. And it also discusses how to take photos that are best for online evaluations.

Answer: You can have a less bulbous, natural-looking nose Hi from Istanbul! Several techniques can refine your nose's appearance, focusing on enhancing the tip's shape and structure, which appears to be a key concern for you. By employing cartilage stitching and support techniques, the cartilages can be refined to be narrower and more defined. Osteotomies could slim the nasal bones, and alarplasty can improve nostril shape. A well-executed rhinoplasty aims to deliver a natural, proportionate look that harmonizes with your facial features. Choosing an experienced surgeon whose aesthetic vision matches yours is crucial to avoiding an overdone appearance. You can definitely have the type of nose you describe without looking like Michael Jackson. Hope this helps!

Answer: Are you a candidate for a Rhinoplasty? Are you a candidate for a Rhinoplasty? as you correctly point out, you have a dorsal hump and bulbous nasal tip. These are routinely addressed during a standard rhinoplasty. It would take a lot of surgery and a very deliberate effort to get a nasal tip anything like Michael Jackson. Frankly, the opposite is true. People with very bulbous tips, particularly if the skin is somewhat thick, Will tend to get softer tips with less definition which are less “pointy“ than they sometimes would like.

Answer: Rhinoplasty may be considered for achieving a narrower, more feminine, and less distracting nasal appearance. Based on your photos, you appear to have a wide nasal appearance in your bridge and tip and a droopy tip on profile and a small dorsal hump. These issues may be addressed with well-performed rhinoplasty surgery. Please consider meeting with several reputable rhinoplasty specialists who offer computer Imaging so you could see what to expect after surgery. In our experience, people's three biggest fears are that they do not want to look like somebody else, do not want to look like Michael Jackson, or do not want to look like they've had previous nasal surgery. If you choose your surgeon wisely, none of these outcomes should happen. Wishing you well! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: What can be done to my nose? Every nose is different and unique to that individual. If the appearance of your nose concerns you enough to do something about it, it can be improved with a natural artistically performed rhinoplasty. What would be the best option and exact procedure would depend on an examination and discussion about desired outcome. Excellent results can be achieved with either a closed or open technique. Keep in mind that following advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do based on two dimensional photos without examining you, physically feeling your tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history and discussing the pros and cons of the operative procedure would not be in your best interest. Natural appearing results need to be individualized and what is appropriate for one patient is not necessarily the best for someone else. I would suggest that you find a surgeon with extensive rhinoplasty experience certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and one who is ideally a member of The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). If you live outside of the United States, the surgeon should ideally be a member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Robert Singer, M.D., FACS La Jolla, California

Answer: Rhinoplasty You are a candidate for a rhinoplasty. You need to raise the nose-lip angle to 110 degrees, refine the tip as it is too bulbous and straighten the dorsum because it has irregular contour. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
