I know testosterone is known to increase oil production and acne. However, I started having severe acne out of nowhere at the age of 30 (male) along with very oily skin. The oily skin happened after using a retinoid which didn't dry me out like it's supp to. So I got a blood test which revealed very low testosterone levels. Could the imbalance in my hormones be the cause of my break out of acne? I'm confused since all the info on hormonal acne is in reference to women or high testosterone.
