Does having bariatric surgery at an earlier age provide any benefits?

Perhaps this is a naive assumption, but it seems many people have turned to bariatric surgery in their mid-40s to early 60s. I'm 29 and seem to be on the younger side of things, though I'm not a teen. Are there any positive side effects or things I can look forward to aside from the lower weight? Am I more likely to recover more quickly for example? Please elaborate or share more details on what I can expect if possible. Thank you so much in advance.
