What is the American Association of Physician Specialties (AAPS)?

Researching doctors and one of them says he is a "board-certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon" certified by the American Association of Physician Specialties (AAPS). How does this board compare to other board certifications?

Board certification meaning

The Certifying board for Plastic Surgery is the American Board of Plastic Surgery.   There are ear nose and throat physicians,(ENT) who specialize in facial plastic surgery and are  Certified by the American Board of  Otolaryngology.  There are Eye doctors specializing in ophthalmic plastic surgery (eye lids) and are certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.   All these boards are part of the American Board of Medical Specialties, making them recognized boards with required education and training, and qualifying examinations.   There are many  sound-a-like societies and boards that are used for marketing purposes--so buyer beware.
