I am 41 years old, 5'2", 125 lbs. I recieved breast implants back in January and have noticed a big difference between my two breasts. After several pregnancies and nursing, I decided on natural looking implants. I picked 3 different sizes, then just left it up to him in the operating room, and what he thought looked best based on my description. He went with the 170cc implant. He also did a mastopexy on the right because the nipple was a little lower than my left. Immediately after surgery, I noticed my right areola was much bigger than the left. I knew it would take time to heal, but over 6 months later, it is still quite a bit larger. It's also very puffy and doesn't respond to cold or touch very well. The shape is also concerning. My left breast looks great- natural, soft, no obvious sign of an implant. The right looks kinda saggy, flat, and feels like it's loose. You can also feel/see the implant and it looks like a flat disk. Also, my areola caves in a bit. If I lie on my back, it looks flat. Before surgery, my nipples/areola were similar in size. When I went in to the doctor, he said that the skin on my right areola seems thinner, so maybe that's why. But he said he's stumped and that he's never seen this before. He offered to make it smaller, but with the puffiness and overall shape of the breast, I think something else is going on. Any thoughts and/or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

This is an excellent question. If you have not checked to see if your implants are ruptured or not, I would start by checking with a high resolution ultrasound to see if your implants are intact. This can be done in the office, and some plastic surgeons have hand held ultrasound devices in their...
Your results are typical of the anchor lift. The anchor lift only lifts the nipple-areola complex but not the center mass of the breast. The added weight of the implants makes the situation even worse. Your breasts are too low on the chest wall. At this time, I recommend explantation and...
The technique I recommend is explantation and lift using The Bellesoma Method. The implants are removed, your breast tissue is reshaped creating upper pole fullness, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in...
