ok, as you can see I have a particularly beastly stomach. I had 2 c sections, one of which was an emergency. Believe it or not I do work out regularly but genuinely can't shift any weight. The over hang is really bad and so is the scarring. My corset muscle did split really badly, but I managed to bring it almost completely back together. So I'm wondering if I need a full or partial tummy tuck.
You would benefit from a full abdominoplasty. The stretch marks below the belly button will be removed but the ones above the belly button will remain, although they will be pulled down. The main thing is that it will recontour your abdomen and tighten the skin. Jonathan Staiano
Hi! I had my tummy tuck on 4/8/11. I am almost 7 months post op. Although I am very happy with my results, I am left with a dog ear on my right side which shows when I wear my bathing suit. My doctor told me he would like to fix it in the spring, which would bring me to almost a year post op. My question is, how long do most of you wait until you perform a dog ear revision? Thank you for your answers!
Dear Madison,
I will sometimes revise a dog ear earlier than a year if they look like they are obviously not going to settle, but I don't think that waiting a year is unreasonable.

Is it true that even if a umbilical hernia is fixed, it can come back? My doctor told me he fixed my umbilical hernia but in rare cases it can come back?, is there anything that can be done to prevent this?
I am afraid that it is a risk following any repair of a hernia that it may come back. The hernia is initially due to weakness of your abdominal wall and repairing it usually involves suturing the defect together. However if the tissues are weak, they can stretch and the hernia recur. If it is troublesome, then you may need to have it repaired again and if the tissues are not strong enough to hold together, a mesh can be used. Good luck. Jonathan Staiano.
