Serious Water Retention and Cellulite 1 Year After Liposuction, What Can I Do?

Hello, I was a slim fashion model of 5'9, 130 pounds who had liposuccion done for the purpose of Adistem Stem Cell therapy for Breast Enhancement. Liposuccion was done to me Jan 2011 on my abdomen, butt, legs, thighs. I received the manual liposuccion with microcannulas. 1 year later, I am experiencing massive amount of cellulite that i didn't have before and swelling over the pubic area (similiar to the post surgery). I lost skin elasticity.I am heavily distressed.I am open to all suggestions.

A: Serious Water Retention and Cellulite 1 Year After Liposuction, What Can I Do?

Thank you for your question.  There appear to be at least two questions here.

The first is "serious water retention."  I am not quite sure what you mean by this but if you are truly retaining water then you need to be assessed by your internal medicine doctor. This is not due to  your previous surgery.

The second question of "massive amount of cellulite" and "lost skin elasticity" could be due to a number of different things: your age, weight fluctuation, overly aggressive liposuction, etc.

I would strongly suggest that you see a board certified plastic surgeon who, after talking to and examining  you,  would be in a much better position to discuss your concerns and give you some suggestions.

What Can Help with Low Back Pain After Hips Liposuction ?

What Can Help with Low Back Pain After Hips Liposuction ?

A: Low Back Pain after Liposuction

Pain in the low back area is  a reality in 100% of patients after hip, flank liposuction.  The absolute 95% cure is time.  There is no alternative.  In 2 or 3 months your pain will fade and fade and go away.  Meanwhile avoid salt (sodium).  Salt makes you swell more and swelling causes pain.  Of course aspirin and ibuprofen help.  Try physical trerapy things such as heat and cold.  See which works.  Massage usually is comforting.  Ultrasonic PT does a little possible but don.t hold your breath.   A back support type garment may feel good.  We humans are impatient.  When there is surgery there is some pain.  Low back liposuction causes low back swelling and pain.  95% of the relief comes with time.   You cant rush it.  Of course the above plus sleeping medication and even occasional narcotic medication can help.  Also a Medrol dose pack can add steroid influence and relief if you are really bothered.   A great relief is just the fact that it will go away.  My Best   Dr George Commons

Is It a Good Idea to Get Lipo Before Marriage and Having Children?

I am 23 years old, I have never been married nor I have children. Do you recomend having a liposuction before marriage and having children. Will in the future affect me having children?

A: Is it a good idea to get lipo before marriage and children?

Thank you for your question. Yes, it is a good idea to get liposuction before having children.  The younger you are to have liposuction the better the result as your skin has more elasticity and therefore will contract down better after surgery.  Liposuction does not affect your ability to have children.
