When Can I Resume Exercise After Liposuction of Waist and Thighs?

I had liposuction over my saddlebags, abdomen,&outer thighs,& a little over my lower back. It has been 1 wk.I have been wearing the compression garment as instructed & had a small umbilical hernia repaired w 1 small stitch I started walking my dogs soon after the surgery. Nothing strenuous, just 40 min. Is that ok? I know I can't do any strenuous exercise for at least 2 wks I normally jog 4 miles/day, weight train,& spin on a bike. Do you think my swelling will take longer to go down?

A: Exercise after liposuction

It sounds like you lead an active lifestyle which may help you recover more quickly.  Walking your dogs is fine, as long as they are not pulling you.  I stress to my patients that exercise should be increased gradually after surgery.        Regular post operative visits to your surgeon will allow you both to decide where you are at in your recovery.

Dr. Said He Would Preform Lipo During TT, But Didn't. Why Would This Happen? (photo)

My PS said he was going to do lipo on 3 places ( my muffin, above BB & hip's ) with me TT and didn't. should I say something to my PS. Scared to say anything that might make PS mad What should I do >>>>>> Plezzzz help

A: Liposuction with tummy tuck

Hi.  I think the answer will be best addressed by your plastic surgeon.  Ask him whether he has done the liposuction in all three areas that you had listed.  I normally perform liposuction on the waist/flanks ("muffin top") and hips.  However, I do not perform liposuction on the abdominal flap "above the BB" to preserve the blood supply. Please ask your plastic surgeon which areas were liposuctioned.  I do not think that he will be "mad" just because you want to know what happened during the surgery.  It is important to have a good communication with your plastic surgeon.

Will Aggressive Lipo Fix my Bulge? (photo)

I'm 7mpo a tummy tuck and muscle repair. Before my TT I asked my PS if I should lose weight. He said it wasn't neccessary. Here I am now with this large bulge.I can still feel that my MR is intact. And my PS said there is no need to do more tightening. I'm scheduled for aggressive ab lipo. Will lipo fix my bulge? Was I an ideal candidate for a tummy tuck? I want my stomach to look like my sucking in photo. Will an extended tummy tuck revision help me get to my goal? I'm 5'3, 160lbs, if that helps.

A: Tummy tuck may give better results than aggressive liposuction

Without examining your abdomen, it would be hard to answer whether liposuction or additional muscle tightening would give you the best result. You should discuss this further with your plastic surgeon.
