I had never had a cosmetic procedure done of any kind. The fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes and mouth were certainly making me look my age! I had a tired, worn-out look, which I noticed especially in photographs. I was determined to improve my appearance and look my best, not only for myself, but for my husband and kids. I decided to seek out the best dermatologist I could find. ... more
I was on a tight budget, so I only had a minimal amount of Botox injected. 20 units between my eyes and 10 around each side. My frown lines have softened, and my crow's feet have been eliminated! I think my brow may have even been lifted slightly as a nice unexpected result! I am VERY pleased with the results I received, though I wish I'd had the funding to have a little more injected. I am... more
I decided to get Botox since they were having a promo at a local MedSpa. I got a total of 30 units yesterday and may add more in two weeks if I need it. The procedure was really really fast! The consultation and chit chat with the nurse took a lot longer than the actual procedure. It's day two and no results yet only a full headache that from what I hear is Norman and heaviness on my forehead.... more
When I turned Thirty, I looked in the mirror and decided to do something simple: Botox. I've been doing it ever since, about once per 6 months for my forehead (deep lines when brows raised) and crows feet. All of which have become deep resting lines, despite sunscreen and good skin care. Find a good injector and you're set, my lines are about 90% decreased after 2 weeks and it really does last... more
I have been getting botox injections in my masseter muscles for jaw reduction about every 6 mos for the past four years. This is a relatively rarer indication for botox and finding clinicians that don't just know how to do this but are actual experts at it is still difficult. I had been getting injections at 2 different plastic surgeon offices before, and they were done by NP's. This was... more
I started getting botox treatments maybe 5 years ago, I haven't really kept with maintenance of it every year. I'd say I get it done conservatively every 8-10 months but realistically every 5-6 months is how long it lasts. After 4 months forehead movements are more malleable. I also don't have so much botox that I cannot move my forehead at all, that looks unnaturally shiny and creepy, so I... more
I got botox for the wrinkles in my forehead. I have a ginormous forehead and have had lines there since I was a kid. Its been 3 days since I got the botox. My forehead has taken on a plastic-like appearance. Its definitely less wrinkly.. but in a weird kind of way.. hard to explain. I don't hate the results, but not sure I would do it again. I think I'll stick with fillers and laser resurfacing. more
I can sum up this reveiw in a few short sentences. I was turned on to Dr. Echavez by a couple of very close friends of mine. We were at lunch and were talking about cosmetic (botox) procedures that they had done within the past year. The two of them looked rested and fresh. That's when I thought, " I want to look rested as well." I asked for the number and made an appointment that very day. A... more
To ease forehead and scowl lines. Have been doing this for 10 years now. A great MD - Years of experience and achieves natural, discrete results. I'm one of the fortunate; treatments usually last 9 to 12 months for me. This proved to be a dismaying disadvantage 2 years ago, however: A tiny amount of Botox was ejected from a site by a skin contraction after the doctor had injected it. He'd... more
I wanted to try it for the experience but I only did it once. The idea of shooting poison into my body just didn't feel right. It did remove the wrinkles and there was no negative, but the results are short-lived. I prefer something more permanent. I only did the forehead area so I had no problems with losing expression in my face. I would do it again for a special occassion. more
I am in my early 30's and was worried about developing a line between my brows. I was a little nervous and had thought about trying Botox for years. A few friends and family members had it done and this perked my curiosity even more though I was very nervous about the price, results, and side effects. When my younger sister called to report that she had it done for the same problem area I was... more
I had Botox for the first time with Dr. Fan and was quite impressed with how much time he spent with me. I also usually tend to have providers drop my brows. This makes my eyes look smaller. Dr, Fan listened, and DID NOT drop my brows at all! This is amazing! I am very happy!! more
I had botox to enhance my looks but it did the opposite. I got bags under my eyes 5 days after the botox was injected. I called my doctor and he said he never heard of that before. I went to see him and he told me to take benadryl and claritin. It did nothing except I had the worst anxiety in my life. I am a high strung person but do not suffer from anxiety. Thankfully, the anxiety only lasted... more
I have been getting botox for years from a PS but moved to a new area and went to a new doc. This new doc came highly recommended and I have seen her for 2 years without a glitch.
This last time, however she got a little happy with the injections and I wound up losing my smile. Since I had gotten Juvaderm in my frown lines also, I was hoping that it was just the swelling that was causing... more
When I went in for my initial consult, I asked for dermafillers. Dr. M discussed the pros and cons with me and recommended that I try Botox instead. Not only did this procedure work, but it saved me a lot of money! I plan to go back for a touch up soon. more
I've had Botox treatments many times for my forehead lines (the # 11 between my brows and crows feet). Because I have such strong muscles in those areas, I require significantly more units than the average person, hence the higher cost.) It takes me 10 to 14 days to see real results and they are fabulous. Unfortunately, they only last about 8 to 10 weeks for me.
I was considering... more
I use it to inject into masseter muscle in jaw to reduce TMJ. It works great. I have the injection every 8 months or so, and it really beats having to wear a mouth-guard every night (yuk). Also makes my jaw look a bit less "square" since it relieves the muscle build-up in my jaw muscles. Also makes chewing food easier and more pleasant (less painful). What can I say, for me - it just... more
I saw some photos in a women's magazine a couple of years ago that made me want to start botox. The photos were of twin women around 35 years old. One of them had been doing botox for 5 years in her forehead and the other had not. The difference was significant. The botox twin looked natural, normal, good. The other twin looked natural too but she had noticeable forehead more
I got Boxot 8 days ago from a trusted friend who is a nurse and works at a med spa. I got 12 units in the upper part of my forehead. Ever since then, I have been having anxiety, plus strange feelings in my face and in the muscles around me ears and below my eyes. The injections were not near these areas at all, but for some reason there are strange sensations in these places. I have also been... more
Pro: the stuff works!Con: it isn't cheapI did it because my forhead wrinkles aged me significantly; the Botox treatment really smoothed them out.Importantly, my doctor is careful not to over-do it, which is a real risk. She does it right and the result is a natural, improved look. more
