As a Result of SmartLipo I Now Have a Thick Cordlike Scar in the Upper Left Quadrant of my Abdomen. What to Do? (photo)

I also have uneven waves and ripples, which dont bother me as much as the scar.

also the cordlike scar is within the abdomen- not on top of the skin. It is a fibroid type of feel, hard and thick and it is uncomfortable at times.

A: complications smartlipo the sad part is that it happened. when this device first came out it was sold to plastic surgeons only. now anyone and everyone has it. the new machines are VERY powerful. unfortunately the most important thing is time and more time. the cord as you have heard need cortisone injections and external ultrasound. the depressions need fat injections. no one will predict how much improvement you might expect.

Scar Removal For Leg Wound

So I was accidentally scalded by hot melted plastic when I was about 6 yrs. old. I'm 20 yrs. old now and I still have scarring on my lower leg. They make me extremely self conscious and I want to know if there is any kind of procedures that would reduce the appearance of my scar or could totally remove it. The scar are basically white and lighter than the skin around it with an odd smooth texture.

A: Ways to remove scar on leg We can easily excise ( ie cut out ) the scar . This will leave a thin scar in a line. We can also use a laser like the Fraxel repair to blend the scar somewhat. Sometimes it can even stimulate some of the pigment. The Excimer laser with multiple treatments can stimulate the pigment to return in over half the cases.

Best Hypertrophic Scar Treatment?

Basically, 2 years ago, I was playing football with friends, fell bad, and got this really bad "cut/gash" on my knee.

It eventually turned into a hypertrophic scar, and since then, I have gotten a number of hypertrophic scars on my body (2 small ones on my chest, 1 near my elbow, and the 1 on the knee).

Before this, I have never gotten a hypertrophic scar so its confusing. Basically, I would like to know the best way to treat these scars. I've heard the steroid injections are effective? Any creams (mederma, vitamin E pills) etc.?

A: PDL, Gemini, Tunable Dye, Hypertrophic scars, keloids

I have found the PDL-Pulse Dye Laser to be most effective for hypertrophic scars or keloids. I have also used the KTP and Gemini and Tunable Dye laser effectively-especially when the keloid is peristing. This is best combined with Triamcinolone acetonide injection. In tough cases we only add interferon which may give cold symptoms and Cordran tape as well as other modalities. IPL is not risky in my experience.
