Silicone Micro Droplet Treatment Migration to Lungs?

Can One Silicone Micro Droplet Treatment Migrate to the Lungs? I Had One Treatment a Year Ago and I'm Still Scared from Hearing This.

A: A well-performed microdroplet, serial-puncture silicone treatment will not lead to migration of product.

In my practice, I have found liquid injectable silicone to be a safe, permanent, and precise off-label filler. During a typical treatment, less than 1/5 of a teaspoon of silicone is used. I have not seen migration of silicone in any of my patients. The permanence, and lack of migration has been well documented provided the proper technique of administration is employed.

I hope this is helpful for you.

I Need a Doctor in NY, NJ, PA, MA or CT Who Does Sillicone Microdroplet Facial Injections

I need to find a doctor in NY, NJ, PA, MA or CT who does sillicone microdroplet facial injections for nose-to-mouth and puppet lines.

A: Liquid Injectable Silicone (LIS) may be safely used by experienced physicians for permanent improvement of your facial wrinkles.

LIS is a permanent filler, so your results, good or bad, are permanent. You must find a board-certified dermatologist or facial plastic surgeon experienced with the micro-droplet technique of LIS administration . You should also have a discussion with your doctor about the FDA's position with respect to using LIS in an off-label fashion to permanently reduce the appearance of your wrinkles. Lastly, you should see many before and after photos demonstrating beautiful results before you pick your doctor and proceed.

Problems with Silikon-1000 injections are infrequent, and include visible bumps or nodules at the sites of injection. This is typically from overcorrection, or injecting too superficially. Most silicone bumps are easily treated with dilute triamcinolone injections, or sometimes light electrosurgery.

I've attached a link to my Silikon-1000 photos here on RealSelf for your perusal.

I hope this helps, and best regards.

Safety of Nasal Liquid Silicone Injections

On a recent rhinoplasty follow-up visit I was injected with liquid silicone to improve the results. The doctor gave me the shot "matter of fact" and didn't mention any dangers. I didn't know there was danger so I went ahead and got the shot. NOW I AM FREAKING OUT. I read that the silicone CANNOT BE REMOVED EVER and that there are links to pneumonitis, migration of the silicone, granuloma, nodules, and even facial necrosis. I am scared out of my mind. Please tell me how dangerous this is.

A: Liquid Injectable Silicone (Silikon-1000) may be safely used by experienced physicians to improve the appearance of your nose.

When used properly, Silikon-1000 provides safe, permanent, natural looking nasal enhancement after Rhinoplasty Surgery. I use silicone in 10-20% of my own rhinoplasty cases to convert a good result into an excellent result.

Nodules or bumps may occur infrequently (<2% in my hands), and almost never occur in your nasal skin. Silikon-1000 works incredibly well for improving nasal irregularities provided the serial puncture, micro-droplet technique is employed.

If you're happy with your appearance after your silikon-1000 injection, don't be concerned. You'll be reassured with time.
