Can breast implants ever feel like natural breasts or do they always feel fake? Is there a special implant you can get that feels quite natural? Can you combine implants with fat transfer?
Breast Augmentation is an excellent procedure to have if you are concerned with your breast size. Breast enlargement can add curves and definition to the body's profile, while enhancing a persons breast size, and making one feel more confident about one's appearance. No implant can ever give you the feeling of a totally natural breast. However, if you are looking for an implant to give you the most natural feel, then silicone implants would be an excellent option. Silicone implants have a soft silicone shell that is filled with silicone gel, and they have a smooth textural feel to them. While Saline implants have a silicone shell that is filled to your desired size with sterile saline, they do not feel as natural as silicone. Be sure to see a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options.
I was under the impression that you can only get saline implants that are different sizes, with one being filled more than the other. Can you do the same with silicone? I have one breast smaller than the other and want to achieve better symmetry. I think I want silicone implants but can I have one bigger than the other?
This is a fairly common situation as many women have slight or even large asymmetries to their breasts. The easiest thing to do is to place a different size in each breast, and you can certainly do that with silicone as well as saline. Also, if one is lower then you can perform a breast lift on the lower breast and add an implant to that breast, while simply placing an implant in the other breast to match the size. Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon for advice on the best option for you.
I have been to two consults. One doc says under, another says behind. Should I get a third opinion?
When you have made the decision to have Breast Augmentation it can be difficult to know who to trust to obtain the best results. Typically the implants are placed under the muscle to reduce the chance of rippling due to lack of breast tissue. Some surgeons may recommend placing the implant above the muscle if the patient works out a lot or does heavy lifting daily. In addition, it may be placed above the muscle if the skin has some laxacity in it. I would speak with both plastic surgeons to see why they prefer their approach and then make your decision.
