Breast augmentation areola incision, Fraxel laser. Sensitivity loss below half of both breasts. 10% sensitivity in both nipples.

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
In regards to your scar, if you feel like the laser is helping then keep doing it.  Your surgeon may also be able to do a scar revision at a later date when you are all healed from your augmentation.  Your sensitivity may still come back over time.  Whatever your sensation is when you are a year out from surgery is usually the best that it will get.  Good Luck and talk to your Plastic Surgeon about your concerns.

I'm 59 and going to have weight loss surgery - am I too old for a body lift afterwards ?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Once you have plateaued with your weight loss you should have no problem receiving a body lift.  You should have your primary care physician clear you prior to surgery.  Age alone doesn't exclude you from this type of surgery.  Good Luck

Hello and thank you for taking the time to answer me. Based on the pictures provided, what procedure(s) would I need? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Based on your pictures I think you don't "need" any surgery.  You should loose the next 20lbs that you want to and then see how you feel.  If you have extra skin in your tummy area then a tummy tuck is an option.  While doing a tummy tuck you could also have some flank liposuction to help smooth out your love handles. In regards to your breast, a lift can always be done.  You should go for a consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and you can get pricing and an evaluation.

Can you do a full body lift but expecially a knee and thigh lift? My legs Embarrass me so much, can you help? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Amazing weight loss!

Due to your massive weight loss, you have excessive skin that will not improve with diet and exercise alone.  If you want the skin removed you will need surgery.  A thigh lift would be great for you.  Since I can't see the rest of your body I can't comment, but all of my weight loss patients have needed a body lift and arm lifts as well.  Make sure to see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.    Good Luck

Which Doctors take Humana and Care Credit for a full body lift?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Humana is a medical insurance.  You can call them to see if a body lift is covered.  If it is, they should have a list of participating surgeons.  Care Credit is a credit card that you apply for a certain amount of money to be put on the card for payment of medical bills. You can call Plastic Surgeons in your location to see if they take Care Credit or they may have a list on their website.  Good Luck

Great job with your amazing weight loss.  From your photos it looks like you would benefit from an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) or a circumferential body lift (tummy tuck and lower back tuck) to remove the excessive abdominal skin you have from your weight loss.  Please have a consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.  Good Luck

My question is can I get implants if I'm flat chested? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Hi and thank you for your question.  Your best plan is to schedule a consultation with a board certified Plastic Surgeon that can assess you.  Your body frame and the type of implant definitely have to be considered so that you can achieve whatever look you have in mind.  Good luck with everything.

What is the most common anti-biotic and pain rx you call in for your patients after Breast Augmentation?

Hi and thank you for your question.  Unless a patient has allergies, the most common antibiotic we give is keflex and pain reliever is Percocet or Vicodin.

6 days post op, are these normal bruise? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Hi and thank you for your question.  It appears from the picture that your bruising is within normal range.  If you are worried about the amount of bruising or if it appears to be swollen, then you should follow-up with your board certified Plastic Surgeon.  Good luck with everything.

19 Y/o 300 Cc Saline Smooth Round Moderate plus Profile - Tinton Falls, NJ

Even though I am 4 days post op, I figured I might as well start my own post about my journey for those who want to know what it's like to have a breast augmentation. I'm sure everyone's experience is different but I thought I'd share my own. My stats (post op): I'm 19, no children. Wore a 34AA bra but never actually filled it out. 5 foot 3 inches (almost :)...) Between 110-115 pounds muscular build and FLAT AS A BOARD. After researching for about a year I came to the conclusion that I have tuberous breasts. After posting pictures on realself and never really getting a straight answer. Long story short, I may or may not have tuberous breasts but my surgeon did refer to them as "constricted" as he marked me up before performing the operation. The morning of my surgery was super stressful. I was "on call" for when to come in and my procedure didn't start til around 2-3 pm. At that point I was too hungry to be nervous or anxious. I felt super crappy until they gave me the IV and filled me with fluids. I had never had that before and it felt weird and uncomfortable. When they gave antibiotics threw the IV my wrist felt like it was breaking it was SO painful. Luckily that went away and when it was time to walk into the operating room I was so overwhelmed I had to hold back my tears. The nurses were so kind and got me settled into a warm bed with lots of comfy blankets. After that all I remember was the anesthesiologist telling me she was giving me something to relax. Next thing I knew it they were waking me up giving me some painkillers, water, apple juice and I was on my way. That night was terribly painful but since then my pain is everywhere but my breasts. I'm not taking any painkillers and now on day four I have stopped the muscle relaxer and will take it only as needed. My left side is a little sore but my right side feels fine.. and my left nipple is rather sensitive while my right is numb. (I had a periareolar incision) The past two days I have been sleeping nearly all day and eating/drinking anything is like a chore. It seems impossible to fit any water in my stomach which is extremely bloated. I am not constipated thank god. But I am suffering terrible headaches and occasional nausea :(. Did I mention my boobs itch like crazy?! But the pain is tolerable. My back and neck and head hurt a billion times more than my boobs. But anyway enough complaining, here are my unattractive swollen boobies. Praying to be a 32C .... Updated on 2 Aug 2014: The first night was hell but ever since I've been pretty much just a little sore and ITCHY. I feel so much better and I'm eating and drinking normally again:) I am starting to love my new boobs except they look freaky in clothes because of so much upper fullness. I did go out last night and did a little too much today (probably not a great idea to vacuum my room) which is probably why I slept from 2 pm to 6 pm. But I'm so happy that the pain is not really pain and mostly tightness. Oh and I have been able to lift my arms since day 3? Idk what that's all about :P Updated on 2 Aug 2014: Sorry it's all backwards, I debated whether or not to start a review but I do wanna track my progress :) Updated on 3 Aug 2014: My right breast is softening and dropping while my left is still store, stiff and super high. Patience is key Updated on 4 Aug 2014: Hello :) I'm still itchy and a little sore but it's all good. The surgical bra I was given is too big so I need to go shopping for a supportive front closing sports bra today. Updated on 4 Aug 2014: These are 34B Victoria's Secret bras... Idk but I think they're too small. Updated on 28 Aug 2014: Just a quick update.. I saw my surgeon yesterday and got the OK to go braless, swim, and run again! Everything looks and feels great and I couldn't be happier. Also got measured at VS and purchased 2 non underwire 34B bras. Updated on 2 Sep 2014: Just so you guys can see how indectable my scar is as of now! It's a little more noticeable in person but I'm sure in time it will fade even more. Updated on 30 Sep 2014: Photo update :) Updated on 1 Oct 2014: I just want to say if anyone has any questions about the breast augmentation process or my experience, feel free to ask me. Now, or in 10 years from now! I want to help as much as possible because I know there are so many questions that would be best answered by someone who went through with the procedure. XOXO Updated on 23 Jan 2015: Updated on 23 Jan 2015: Updated on 30 Apr 2015: To anyone wondering about the feel of saline implants, they do not feel natural or soft at all. Mine especially don't because I had no breast tissue of my own prior tony surgery. It feels similar to a stiff, very full bag of water. Mine being under the muscle feel harder after I have worked out arms/chest. This is the only think that really bothers me about my implants. But they are not rock hard, and they are potentially safer than silicone implants so I would say it's worth it if you're looking to improve size and shape. Updated on 8 Aug 2015: My breasts are completely healed and settled. I'm very happy with them but they're still very firm to the touch. I plan to switch to silicone when it's time for me to get them redone in the future. Also one is bigger and rounder than the other but that's how they were before I guess.

So Far So Good - Jackson, NJ

So far so good. I am still very swollen after 5 days. I had a breast lift, augmentation and mini tuck. The pain has been very manageable. The drainage tube is a pain but tolerable. I get it removed on Wednesday. My stomach looks 100 times better than before and I can only imagine how it will look once the swelling subsides. Updated on 28 Mar 2011: I decided to have a breast lift with implants and a mini tummy tuck because I want to feel confident again. I'm happy with the result so far. Pain is very manageable with meds. I'm still very swollen 7 days post op and getting very itchy. I have an appointment on Wednesday hoping to have the drain removed. Updated on 29 Mar 2011: Ok so I felt really good today. Cleaned the upstairs bathrooms, vacuumed, I actually enjoyed doing it. I found out very quickly that even though I feel ok, i'm not ready yet. I swelled up and feel cramps in my belly. Time to put my feet up and relax. I'm soooo tired of relaxing already. I can't wait to be fully recovered. Updated on 30 Mar 2011: Drains are out. Feels great. Doc said everything looks good. So happy not to have the drain; not painful but annoying. Updated on 3 Apr 2011: Yey. I put on my jeans today. Not tot bad for being a swollen. I'm just wondering if it's the swelling or if I put on some weight. They feel snug in the toosh--no work done there UH OH!!! I need to start working out. I feel great. I feel like I can start working out, but I will be good and follow the advice of my doctor and wait. Can't wait for summer so I can wear my BIKINI!!!!!!!! I can't wait to sit in a beach chair and not have to recline it all the way down woooohooooo. Updated on 4 Apr 2011: 2 weeks post op and feeling amazingly great. Still a little swollen in the lower abdomen, which the doctor said would be the last to go away. Very happy I went through with this. My only regret is that it took so long to finally decide to get it done. Updated on 11 Apr 2011: Three week behind me. Feeling pretty good. Walked three miles today. Can't wait to start working out with weights again. Swelling is almost all gone. Sometimes if I do a lot I am swollen towards the evening. I can't wait until I can start wearing a regular bra. I'm really tired of these surgical bras and sport bras. They said to wait at least six weeks before putting on an underwire. I don't even know what my bra size is. Guessing a large C small D. I'm still wearing compression tops. I bought a flexees cami and if feels much better than that binder. Incisions are still a little sore. I still have the tape on them. Don't want to take them off until my next doctor visit. Would I do it again? Absolutely, 100%, definitely YES!

Breast Reduction

Consultation review - I didn't end up proceeding with surgery

I was recommended to consider breast reduction for back pain. I consulted with several doctors, both in and out of network. While most charged a consult fee, Dr. Rose charged nearly $1200 for a 20-minute conversation. My insurance managed to negotiate it down over several months and phone calls, but his office wasn't willing to negotiate.I ended up with a bill of $350 because of my insurance's help, still well above the standard for a brief consult, which also felt rushed as it was end of day and his family was in the waiting room apparently ready to leave. I didn't end up proceeding with surgery, so I can't comment on that, but I hope this information saves someone a huge unexpected bill and a lot of hassle in the future.
