These tiny white spots are called milia, or milk spots, and are common with blepharoplasty surgery. Sutures used during the procedure cause trauma to the skin and hyperactive sebaceous glands become blocked, resulting in these small white spots. In most cases, these spots will resolve on their own. If they persist, you can schedule an appointment with your plastic surgeon, and they can be removed.

 

IF your lower eye bags are the result of allergies, the puffiness is likely the result of fluid and not fat. If you are able to get your allergies under control and still experience lower eye bags, then chances are a lower eyelid blepharoplasty will work for you. I would suggest starting with an allergist to get the allergies under control and then a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon to determine your best course of action.

 

That being said, scars can take as much as 6 to 12 months to fully heal and mature, so experiencing scarring at 3 weeks is completely normal. Continue to follow the post-op instructions provided by your plastic surgeon, including the application of contralubex. Avoid sun exposure as scars are more sensitive to UV rays and burns. If you are concerned, schedule a follow-up with your plastic surgeon.

 

Having residual puffiness at this stage is completely normal. It can take 6-12 months before all puffiness resolves and you see your final results. If you are concerned, follow-up with your plastic surgeon and continue to follow your post-op instructions. Some tips to reduce swelling include reducing the salt in your diet, make sure to keep yourself hydrated, avoid alcohol and sleep with your head elevated.




 

While the burn may look fine on the surface, all the underlying tissue needs to heal as well. Your provider will go over this at the consultation and determine how long you need to wait before your arm is ready for laser treatment.
