Recovery? Pain? I was told by my surgeon that he could remove them under straight local. They are not ruptured. Is this true? I'm 30 years old. I had silicone 400cc breast implants placed 3 years ago. I was a fuller A cup and went up to a DD (against my wishes, I wanted a C) I'm a very active person and have hated them ever since. I do not wish to have them replaced in fear of future surgery, problems, etc. It was an unfortunate circumstance that I just want erased from my history.
Breast implant removal under local anesthesia is a very simple procedure for the surgeon and the patient. Virtually painless during and after.
Having had 400 cc implants for 3 years there will be stretch of the overlying tissue. You may consider asking your plastic surgeon if you are a candidate for internally supporting and lifting the breast. This involves suturing the implant pocket closed while lifting the nipple and breast. This can be easily done with local anesthesia as well if you wish.

I'm explanting in a weeks time, my breasts were an A cup to begin with and I have 335 allergan under the muscle. I have never really liked the size they are, or the fakeness of them and actually preferred my pre op breasts ( feel etc ) but I am aware they may not return to the way they were. I have had my implants 4 years, but have had a pregnancy in that time. Im just wondering if I am unhappy with the outcome, can I re implant without extra risk? Are pert breasts possible? Lift maybe?
You may find some changes to your chest and breast having had implants for 4 years when they are removed. They will probably not look exactly how they did preop. The overling tissue can stretch, your breast tissue volume can decrease, and the chest wall can depress a little beneath a tight implant.
If you are unhappy with the outcome, you can certainly have them replaced. The risk of capsular contracture is a little higher with revision surgery.
I am 38 have had PIP submuscular implants I think 220 for 6 years I want them removed and not replaced I have read a lot about the capsule and would like advice. Should I insist on capsule removal because of the possible contamination through the faulty toxic implants that may have been absorbed into the protective capsule? I am concerned that even if I have the implants removed I will still be at risk from the industrial silicon.
I am sorry to hear you are in the middle of this PIP implant mess. As long as the implant is not ruptured, it is unlikely that there would be any difference with simple implant removal or complete capsulectomy. However, the quality of these implants has been proven to be inferior with a higher risk of rupture and leak. For piece of mind, I would recommend capsulectomy to be sure.
