Highly recommended. Dr. Rueben the best surgeon in the valley. He is professional, has exceptional surgical skills, has great bedside manner and really cares about his patients. I appreciate his documentation of each procedure and the fact that I can access all information through the secure patient portal. His surgical skills and his stitching is unmatched! The clinic is supported by an outstanding team of nurses and staff who made me feel comfortable, supported and heard. They paid attention to every detail and responded quickly to my messages; patiently answering any questions I had. If you're looking for a plastic surgeon who combines top-notch expertise with compassionate care, Dr. Rueben is your go-to.
After losing nearly 100 lbs. and maintaining my current weight, it's time for me to finish the transformation! I always knew that I would want a tummy tuck for the loose skin, and as I achieved my goal weight I decided that a breast lift and lipo would create the results I'm looking for. I had a short list of board certified plastic surgeons in Utah and ultimately decided that Dr. Brian Reuben was the right surgeon for me. I was referred by a friend who had a breast augmentation and loved her results and experience with him. I saw why in my consultation. From the moment I stepped foot into 22 Plastic Surgery, I was warmly welcomed by every member of the staff and made to feel immediately comfortable. Dr. Reuben listed patiently to me as I discussed my goals and the procedures I believed would get me there. He clearly explained the benefits and risks of each procedure and guided me through how they were done, as well as shared his experience in doing them. He also clearly answered all questions my husband and I had, and at no point did we feel rushed or pressured. We really connected with him and his staff, feeling like he was the best fit. Together, we landed on a belt lipectomy, breast lift with reduction and fat transfer, liposuction of the hips and thighs and Renuvion of the abdomen, hips and thighs, which were the procedures I had intended to inquire about. The patient coordinator, Bree, is an absolute delight! She has been prompt in her responses to my questions and very knowledgeable. Not only that, she's just so kind and seems genuinely excited to be on this journey with me. I've booked my surgery for September 10 and will continue to update my review with my experiences! Updated on 24 Aug 2024: I had my pre-op appointment this week, and I am still so glad I chose 22 Plastic Surgery for my procedures! Everyone I encountered is beyond kind and welcoming, and they make you feel right at home. My appointment was with Cassie, who was just so personable and knowledgeable! We clicked immediately and that made the appointment both valuable and fun. She was very thorough in explaining what I should expect, and very thorough in answering all of the questions from my husband and me. We never felt rushed throughout the appointment, and Cassie made sure to ask repeatedly what other questions we had so nothing was left unanswered. She was also clear that if I did have other questions or needed something else that I could reach out anytime, either before or after surgery. I left the appointment feeling like I knew what to expect and that I was going to have all the support I need to have a positive surgical experience. My prescriptions were called in by the time I got home and ready for pick up, Cassie shared additional information as promised via the app, I have the supplies recommended during my appointment, and now just counting down the days until my surgery! Updated on 14 Sep 2024: I had my surgery on Tuesday, and it was just an exemplary experience from start to finish! I was the first surgery of the day, so I arrived at about 645. I was greeted on arrival with big smiles and enthusiasm that immediately put me at ease. And that’s how everyone was - just genuinely friendly and excited to be on this journey with me. I didn’t have any anxiety or fear at all- just excitement that was matched by Dr. Reuben and my entire care team. Because the camera was broken during my pre-op, we started with my before pics before going into the exam room where Dr. Reuben closely examined all of the areas that he was going to work on and marked them up to make sure the work he was doing was going to match my expectations. From there, it was a goodbye to my husband and into the OR, where the last thing I remember saying was, “Oh, I feel so relaxed now”. Lights out for the next 6 hours! The next thing I remember was waking in the recovery room with my husband and care team beside me. I was groggy and sore but in exceptionally little pain. I attribute this to the exparel - DO NOT SKIP IT! Yes, it’s an extra charge but worth every single penny in easing the pain in the first few days. I also chose to get the nausea patch that I wore behind my ear, and I’ve had little to no nausea the entire time. Dr. Reuben personally called my husband to check on me the evening I went home, and called me the next day to check in. The personal touch is what really makes a difference - he called from his personal phone number and made it clear that we could use it to reach him for anything at anytime. Urinating was the first challenge because of the catheter they had on during surgery. I didn’t urinate until the day after surgery, and it took a few times before it felt like I cold urinate normally. I was diligent with using both a stool softener and laxative, and had my first bowel movement 4 days post-op. The drains are a necessary nuisance. I have 3 in my abdomen, and I expect they’ll be removed at my 1 week appointment. I showered 2 days post-op and that was very difficult- I should have given it one more day because it really took it out of me. My pain has been exceptionally well managed. Coughing makes me feel like I’m going to die, and sneezing is even worse - I had a couple bad fits of coughing from a tickle on my throat that made me feel like I was in absolute agony, but the prescribed meds did their job and we were able to get it well under control. As for the results - I’m beyond delighted with what I’m seeing so far! So delighted, in fact, that when my husband showed me the pic of me on the operating table after the work was done, I cried with happiness. I had a lot done and it’s going to take time to see the full results, but so far I’m loving it! I was worried a fat transfer to my breast wouldn’t get me the fullness of was looking for, but right now my breasts look perfect! As the swelling goes down, I’ll post more updates but right now, I love my results and am beyond thrilled I chose Dr. Reuben as my surgeon! Updated on 19 Dec 2024: I have never liked what I saw in the mirror - until now! I am 3 months out from having significant body work at 22 Plastic Surgery with Dr. Reuben - belt lipectomy, Lipo 360, breast lift with reduction, fat transfer to the breasts, lipo of lateral and medial thighs and Renuvion. Recovery was a journey but easier than I had envisioned- and now that I’m 3 months post-op, I’m beyond thrilled with how my body is shaping up! Beyond his clear, expert surgical techniques (just look at those pretty scars!!), Dr. Reuben is so kind, knowledgeable and invested in giving you exactly what you need to feel like your best self. When I had a wound issue with the incision on my back, he was very reassuring that it would heal well even though I was anxious about it. I got the support and guidance I needed to properly care for it so it healed beautifully - no concerns at all! Now that I’m healed, I’m exploring additional procedures and would only consider Dr. Reuben and the 22 team for my care. Next up is an additional fat transfer to the breasts to increase size (I knew I likely would want to go bigger than 1 transfer could accomplish, and I didn’t want implants); and a thigh and arm lift. I would without question do what I’ve already done all over again, and couldn’t be happier with every aspect of my experience!
I had a fat transfer to breasts no former surgury he grafted from love handles and saddlebags. it looks sooo good a week out and I'm having really good retention. he was so professional and good to work with. had a really good experience with him. make sure you read about lipo aftercare though bc its important to be informed and for me that was the hardest part.
I had my consultation for vaginoplasty with Dr. Reuben who did a labiaplasty on me about 5 years ago. He did a great job on that so I'm fully trusting him in this procedure as well. I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared though! This is such an intimate and important area. I just pray it all goes smoothly. My first vaginal delivery resulted in my placenta growing into my uterus and requiring a "manual" extraction meaning the dr had to put her whole arm and hand inside me to pull it out. It was horrible. My second delivery, my son was shoulders up instead of down and I pushed for about 2 hours. Needless to say, my poor vag has been through a lot. I'm really looking forward to just being restored to normal and having a satisfying sex life again. I will update after my surgery.
I had a round of fat transfer to my breasts (see other review) and instead of a second transfer round I decided to get implants. My reason for this is I started going back to the gym more regularly for yoga, pilates and walking and I lost an inch in my breasts. I didn't want to spend the money for another transfer just to have that happen again. Especially since I would only realistically be able to transfer 150cc to each breast. If I had more fat, (250-300cc/breast) I definitely would have gone the transfer route. I'm so far happy with my implants. I am eager for the drop so I know what the final look will be. Cons: Not being able to use my arms and exercise The surgical/sports bras I have had way more pain in my breasts than the fat transfer. There have been mornings I woke up crying and I have a high pain tolerance. Pros: The size of my breasts will be more consistant and I don't have to worry about loss via exercise. Confidence Besides the breast pain I am not having to recover from lipo at the same time. Updated on 19 Feb 2022: The first couple days of recovery were fine. After the anesthesia wore off I was in quite a bit of pain and had to take pain meds and Valium around the clock or I would wake up in the night whimpering. Now I'm only taking Tylenol and ibuprofen with the occasional Valium if my breasts feel like they are burning. I had numbness in my right breast and nipple which has resolved and now both nipples are hyper sensitive! The right side has started to drop, my left side is still high. I still get "zings" in both breasts but mostly my right. Maybe because it's my dominant hand? According to the tape measure right now I'm a 36D. Updated on 3 Mar 2022: Happy so far! Cleared to start gentle massage (aka squishing). I still can't use my arms too much without being in pain the next day. It mostly hurts in my shoulders/armpits and my breast bone. Taking Tylenol 1000mg every 8 hours and alternating with ibuprofen at least once per day. I'm going to start Mederma on my scars and I have a complementary laser treatment for them in April. Updated on 18 Apr 2022: Going great so far. My left breast feels softer and is still high while my right has dropped more and feels more firm. My pecs are tight so it will probably take 6-9 months for them to even out. I'm currently measuring at a 32D. I did dual plane with Naturelle Gummy Bear at 305cc each.
I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Reuben for an implant removal and breast lift. I was beyond pleased with the results of the surgery. I never imagined that he would be able to repair the damage of an implant rupture and removal of 32 year old implants! If you are considering this type of surgery I would highly recommend Dr Reuben, whose work is exquisite. I will have Dr Reuben do any future surgeries that I need. Thank you so much Dr Reuben!
I have always wanted to enlarge my breasts since I was a teenager. I decided to wait until after I finished having children. When researching the new procedures and implants I came across breast fat transfer. It was the perfect fit for me because I only want to go up a cup size and I liked that I would also have body contouring via the lipo. I had 275mL transferred to each breast. Cons: I had to wait a month for my initial office visit and two months for my surgery. The compression bra compressed under my breasts, right under my nipples so I think I immediately lost some of the fat. Dr. Rubin told me to go with out a bra and that it would be ok. I'm trying not to worry. The lipo hurts, a lot. They told me my back would hurt and ooo doggie, they weren't kidding. Pros: Dr. Rubin and his staff are kind and he has an excellent bedside manner. I was called by his nurse Whitney the night before surgery and he called me the in the evening after my surgery. The cost was the same as getting implants but the benefits of lipo is an added bonus. It's my own body, no chance of rejection and the scars are tiny. Updated on 5 Jul 2021: The bruising is starting to subside on my breasts and the are starting to feel heavy. The lipo place that hurts the most is my lower-back flank area. Ice packs are my breast :D friends. I have a waist which is a first for me. I've always been more rectangular. I'm excited with the results so far. Updated on 15 Jul 2021: My bruising on my breasts is almost completely gone and two of the 8 incision sites are closed. I'm happy with the results so far! My only down side is my lipo sites on my back and flanks still hurt, are swollen and numb. I ended up getting a hematoma. Noting to do with my surgeon, just the un-luck of the draw. Updated on 11 Aug 2021: Overall happy :) My incision sites are closed. My breasts feel and look great, no issues. The only issues I have are the hematoma on my left side and my lower back. The hematoma continues to get smaller and softer. My lower back is still numb in some areas, inflamed and bruised. When I move my lower back it gets hot to the touch and is painful. I am still wearing compression during the day and alternate between surgical compression and Spanx. I tried other brands but I had sizing issues or the product did not compress all my lipo areas. I follow up with my MD in October. I will decide then if I want to have another round of fat transfer. Past measurements Chest 36" Breast 37" Waist 32" Current measurements Chest 32" Breast 35" Waist 29" Updated on 14 Jan 2022: I decided to get another round done. My breasts won't be much bigger as I don't have a lot of fat to graft but more to fill the upper pole and create a bit more cleavage. Surgery at the beginning of February. I will be getting lipo on my thighs and knees with a transfer of hopefully another 150mL/cc to each side. I have no issues with the fat that was transferred and my recent mammogram stated I have very dense breasts. Perfectly normal.
I initially went to see Dr. Reuben regarding Breast Implant Illness and explant. Upon initial consult, it was clear he was a master in his field. In addition to the breastwork, I asked him to remove the extra skin from my tummy and arms left from losing >100 lbs. This is a lot of surgery. His work in all areas was phenomenal! He has taken extra care to ensure I have healed properly and completely. LesLee and Heather have been his right and left hands, ensuring the patient experience outside the surgery room, from start to finish, mirrors Dr. Reuben's high medical standards. I recommend this practice to anyone seeking excellence for their medical team.
I had an amazing experience. I had 15 year old saline implants removed with a lift. Dr Reuben and his staff were great from the first consultation to the post surgery visits. I would definitely recommend for plastic surgery.
Dr. Reuben is the real deal! He has it all. He truly cares, he spends ample time, he listens, and he is the BEST in his field. I have worked along side him for many years and have seen his work first hand. I also consider him a close friend. I finally decided to go ahead with a breast augmentation that I had semi-jokingly been talking to him about for years. He is truly a ‘delicate genius’. I wouldn’t go to anyone else. And his staff! They are ALL so wonderful. Leslee especially sticks out. She spent so much time on the phone with me and she was one of my biggest supporters- she felt like a close friend. Wish I had done this sooner! I love my body now. I am more confident, happier, I feel more feminine and I feel like a ‘woman’ again, not *just a ‘mom’. It was a smooth process all around!
If you are very thin and the implant is too low, this can be seen right away. Typically we sit patients up to evaluate the shape and look of the breast before leaving the OR.
Great question, these sutures dissolve. I’m not sure there’s a single surgeon who would use permanent sutures for this aspect of the surgery. It is rare that we use permanent sutures anymore for a TT.
Thank you for your question and photo. With the current shape of the breasts, a lift is necessary to provide a good outcome. A lollipop lift or anchor lift may be necessary depending on how much excess skin you have and what size implant is chosen. Using an “internal bra” mesh on a first time augmentation is typically not necessary. This adds extra costs that are typically not necessary. The internal bra is great for implant related issues if the original surgery was not done well.
Thank you for your question. Best way to think about a double bubble is that it’s a structural problem: the implant has slipped down under the supporting ligaments of the breast. This type of problem needs a structural fix: repairing the bottom attachments of the breast. Fat grafting does not repair this and is a mere “cover up” of the underlying problem. For small double bubbles, this can sometimes be reasonable. However, for most problems, it will fall short of a good fix. Best wishes.
Thank you for your question and photos. You do not have tuberous breasts. However, as you have pointed out, an implant will help to create a rounder and fuller shape to the breasts. An implant will generally make the breast larger, but choosing an appropriate size for your desires will help ensure a beautiful result.Best wishes.
