Should I Get a Mini Tummy Tuck or a Full? is There Any Non Surgical Options for Me? (photo)

So I had a baby 3 years ago and this completely ruined my stomach. I am 21 years old, I exercise regularly and have been trying EVERYTHING to get rid of this. Before pregnancy I was 115 lbs, I ended up weighing 180 lbs the day before delivery. Finally down to 133 lbs I am about ready to be able to wear a bikini. Is there any other options then surgery for me? I plan on having this done by june so please let me know soon!

A: Do full tummy tuck

I would reccomend you do a full tummy tuck.  A full tummy tuck will address better the excess skin and laxity above the umbilicus and repair any muscle weakness.  Good luck.

Breast Reduction Scars Are Lower Post Tummy Tuck. Is This Normal?

I had a breast reduction years ago. After a recent tummy tuck the lower breast incisions/scars appear approximately 1/3 - 1/2 inch lower due to tension and are now visible under my bra line. Is this normal? Will this subside?

A: Breast reduction scars

Thanks for your question.  Without a before and after picture it is hard to confirm your observations, however your description is very plausable with a tummy tuck to lower your breast reduction scars.  I am not sure you can expect much improvement if the scar position bothers you.  Please discuss with your surgeon.

My Doctor Does Not Use Compression Garments After a Tummy Tuck is This Safe/ok?

My plastic surgeon does not place his patients in any type of compression garment after performing a tummy tuck on them. He says there is no scientific facts to support that these items help or aid in better results or healing. But believes they cause unneccessary pain and discomfort and actually increase swelling in the lower limbs and restrict blood flow. Is this safe or ok to do and will this have a negative effect on my results?

A: Compression garments after tummy tuck

Thanks for your question.  Every surgeon has a routine which should reliably and reproducibly obtain a good result.  That being said, if you like the results your surgeon gets, then you should follow his/her advice.  I always use a binder after tummy tuck and girdles after liposuction.  I think they reduce pain, provide support, help contour, and reduce swelling.  The garments are supposed to be snug, not tight or constrictive.  I see patients often during their recovery and adjust and change their garments accordingly.  Good luck.
