I am a 40 + year old women who had a gastric sleeve over 10 years ago and was dealing with a fupa and mommy weight. So I made the decision a year ago to have a tummy tuck but was very undecided on a doctor until I remembered Dr Liland and how amazing he was years ago when he did my mothers surgery. When I say Dr Liland and his staff are amazing and didn’t disappoint. I am so glad I chose him as my surgeon 3 months in to recovery and this mommy is very pleased with the results and how my new body looks. So ladies or men if your looking for a trusted plastic surgeon Dr Liland is definitely your go to Surgeon trust me you won’t be disappointed. As an incentive for posting a review, this reviewer received an entry into RealSelf’s monthly $500 gift card giveaway.
I couldn't be happier with my results of my mommy make over! I’m 37 and wearing a bikini and looking really good doing it! He fixed my umbilical hernia also which was a big issue with how I looked at myself. I wanted a breast augmentation that looked natural and he delivered. They’re not too big or too small and look great. I love the new me!! Thank you Dr. Liland!! I’ve given your name out to many people who ask what surgeon I went to and I say your name with pride! And not only do I love my body, but he didn’t push any additional surgeries on me. He even actually told me that one of the parts of my body I wanted worked on, he said I didn’t need to touch it because it looked fine. So he doesn’t try to upsell you. He just wants to do what you want so you feel good about yourself.
Dr. Liland did a Breast argumentation with implants and he went above and beyond to make sure I was happy to get my breasts lifted and where I wanted them. I'm extremely happy, and I will be back. I would highly recommend him. Dr. Liland and his staff were extremely kind and caring; they made sure that I had whatever I needed. Do your research before you choose your surgeon. I had a very bad experience with the bacterial infection and ugly breasts from the last one I had from a previous surgeon. I was out of work for three months, but thankfully, this did not happen. I was back at work in 3 weeks. Thank you Dr Liland and staff.
It's been 3.5 months since I've had my surgery and I wanted to hold off on writing a review till I was at least a few months out from surgery. If you don't want to read a long review here is the short and sweet version - The results from Dr. Liland exceeded my expectations. My confidence has gone up so much, I am ecstatic!!! I went to 2 other consultations, and everyday I am so happy with the decision I made to get this procedure done by Dr. L island. With that said, if you want more details about the whole experience, keep reading ... Although I am SO happy with my results, I still want to be transparent about everything, cause I know I would've appreciated it when I embarked on this journey. Why did I go with Dr. Liland? Besides the fact that the before/after pictures of his work were phenomenal, I went with Dr. Liland because I felt that he sounded the most confident in what he could deliver. I appreciate his forward and straight to the point personality. I know some people might not be keen on that, but when choosing to put my trust in someone for something as life changing as this procedure, I would much rather feel confident in letting them operate on me than what type of personality they have. Besides that, since I was getting a lift with implants, that procedure is more complex than just an augmentation. How was the post-op/recovery experience? This was my first surgery, so to say that I was freaking myself out is an understatement. I suggest you do your research (a LOT OF IT) so that you know what is/isn’t normal during recovery because trust me, I was convinced way too often that something was wrong , when it wasn’t - I just needed to let my body heal. Luckily, nurse Angela was always reachable via text and was very helpful in answering my questions. I did go to quite a few post-op check-ups, which is great. This way, Dr.Liland or his staff can monitor how things are going. One thing that I do think could be improved throughout this process is getting more clear post-op instructions. After the surgery, I received a printed document with instructions, but as someone who has never had surgery, a bit more info would have been helpful. How are the results? ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. I had lost quite a bit of weight in the past, so my before pictures were tragic to say the least. I didn’t think I could have my breasts looking the way they do. They look SO natural, and the scarring is not bad AT ALL, given that I’m only 4 months out. I did buy the silagen scar tape strips from the office and wear them almost 24.7. Not sure if that’s why my scars healed so well or not, but I think spending the extra $$ for optimal results is worth it. Another thing to note - I hated my nipple size before, and I told him when he was marking me up that I wanted my nipples made smaller, and he did great. What to know before surgery … Bring inspiration pictures, come prepared with questions and make sure you’re clear with him on what your results are. Dr. Liland suggested 475cc implants, but this was him choosing a proportional size for my body, based on your typical breast implant patient. I failed to tell him that my goal wasn’t to have big boobs, but to have nice ones. I had such a hard time choosing my size, I ended up going back in to get re-sized a month after my initial consult and still didn’t know my final side till day before surgery. So basically, come prepared and be ready to share your final goal cause everyone’s is different. Overall - I would give my experience a 9.5/10. Taking the half point off because I do wish there was more clear post-op instructions, but besides that, I couldn’t recommend him enough. Updated on 20 Jun 2024: I wrote my initial review when I was almost 4 months out from my surgery. Now I’m officially 6 months from my surgery date and I am SO happy. They’re literally perfect & look better and better everyday. Scarring is almost completely gone and they just look so good I’m in awe that he was able to make them look like this. Updated on 3 Jan 2025: What can I say … they’re just perfect & look better and better every day. Best decision of my life. I still wear scar tapes as much as I can to this day and take really good care of them. The faint scars don’t even bother me because the shape and the size and everything else is everything I could have wished for.

My experience was amazing . Dr Liland made me feel extremely comfortable. I had surgery a week ago. I am beyond happy with my results. Everyone in the office made me feel extremely comfortable. My nurse Angie was the best she was with me from beginning to the end. I had several consultations before deciding on Dr Liland. And I am so happy I made the right decision.
Dr.Liland is the best surgeon I have ever come across; extremely professional and absolutely an amazing surgeon. I have had 2 breast augmentations (2nd one was a removal with replacement, fist one I had saline and now I have silicone) and let me tell you, it looks amazing!!! Not only is he one of the greatest but he has a delightful staff, very simple to schedule and they always attend to your needs. Dr.Liland and his staff are all very helpful, patient and extremely nice. Surgery went so smoothly, minimal scaring (I also purchased their scaring cream, highly recommend it).I was a size 36B and now I am a 36/38DD. I just love him and his staff. If you are looking for a surgeon he is the one. I will be returning for lipo bbl.
Dr.Liland and his staff are amazing! I had breast augmentation and lipo 360 in September. With this being my first procedure I was so nervous and uneasy. Dr. Liland and specifically his nurse Angela have made this process seamless. Very happy with my results.
From the initial consultation, to the pre-op appointment, to the surgery day, I cannot rave enough over Dr. Liland and his staff!! Each staff member was knowledgeable, extremely welcoming and patient with me as a first timer to plastic surgery. The patience, kindness and expertise of Dr. Liland was unmatched after visiting with other surgeons in the metroplex. Maria, Nurse Angela and CRNA Gebert made my surgical day experience a dream!! Their care, concern and professionalism was next level!!! I’m beyond thankful to have learned about this INCREDIBLE practice and the 5 star staff that make it the magic it is!!
Doctor Liland and his staff are very professional and friendly. My experience has been phenomenal. The nurse, Angela, has especially made my recovery so much easier. The front desk staff are always polite, helpful and eager to answer any questions.
Initially I have my patients in binders for about 6 weeks from the original procedures. Most swelling has resolved but I feel that gentle compression helps the residual swelling resolve and the final results be seen faster if the wear Spanx or a soft girdle like garment for additional 6 weeks
The average TT swelling lasts 6 weeks at least and often into the 3rd month. The larger the fat content of the flap will retain more edema and swelling for longer periods of time. Ive seen swelling last up to 1 year in patients with massive weight loss surgery due to increased vasculature and lymphatics related to the previous larger demand on the tissues that became minimally used after weight loss.I have my patients switch into Spanx after wearing the binder at about 6 weeks. Most say they like the additional support and it helps control the swelling.
Full recovery in terms of no symptoms from a full TT is sometimes up tp 3-6 months after surgery....but most are comfortable at about 4 weeks. I let my patients return to work in 10-14 days, but they often are not pain free or they experience symptoms of tightness and pulling. Standing up straight varies patient to patient and often is determined by how tight the closure is which often has to do with the position of an individuals umbilicus...the higher , the tighter, the more time needs to stretch out the skin.
There are several types of tummy tucks with varying recovery times which are most dependent on ones personal tolerance to pain. Mini can return to work in about 3 days, modified TT in 1 week, and the full standard TT 10 to 14 days. In my practice there is no heavy lifting or exercise for 6 weeks and no crunches for 1 year.I know perform Full TTs using Exparel on every case that is a 72 hour local anesthesia which has revolutionized my patients outpatient TT experience with more rapid recovery.
The cost of a standard full Tummy Tuck can vary surgeon to surgeon and by location. What is important to consider in this question is that the Total cost is given. We offer complete package fee schedules that include the major fees: Surgeons fee, Operative room fee, and Anesthesia fee and all follow up appointments. Our TT fee starts at $8000. Dallas fees that Im familiar with start at around $5000 for a mini TT and range upward to $12,000 for complete TT. Other higher fees can be related to hospital based OR and Anesthesia Fees or other circumstances. Make sure you ask those questions when making your appointment.
