Will my Surgeon Be More Likely to Do a Better Job on my Rhinoplasty if I'm His First Surgery of the Day or the Last?

I know it seems like a silly question but its really not. Take for example my hair stylist. I've found she does a much better job if I'm her very first client of the day. Verses being the last when she;s worked all day and tired. I know a stylist goes through a lot more clients in a day then a surgeon, so their not comparable. But i'm still wondering if it makes a difference? I've researched my surgeon and am confident in him but i'm still looking for the best possible results, as is anyone!!

A: It may be better to have your Rhinoplasty Surgery in the morning, rather than the afternoon.

The maximum number of nose jobs I will schedule for a morning is three. As long as your surgeon is expert at rhinoplasty, you should be fine if your case is within the first three of the day.

Rhinoplasty may take around two hours, and after 6 hours of intense concentration (3 cases), I'm ready to leave the surgicenter. Other surgeons may have different levels of mental stamina: this commentary is based on my personal preference.

Hope this helps.

What Kind of Stitches Are Used in Rhinoplasty?

Do they dissolve or are they taken out? Do I have a choice? My friend had rhinoplasty last month and she had 16 stitches. She said getting the stitches removed was more painful than the surgery.

A: Both permanent and dissolvable sutures are used during Rhinoplasty Surgery.

All of the sutures inside your nose will be dissolve and typically fall out within the first 3-4 weeks after your Rhinoplasty. At the base of your nose, you may need between 5-15 delicate sutures: 5 without nostril work, and 11-15 if you require nostril narrowing. These external sutures may be either permanent or dissolvable, depending on the preference of your surgeon.

Hope this helps.

Swollen Top and Crooked Tip 2 Months After Rhino, When Will I See The Final Result? (photo)

Hi. I had a rhinoplasty carried out on the 16th Dec 2011. When the cast came off it looked really nice and I was so pleased. I have attached the pic but as the weeks go by I have noticed that my nose seems to be really swollen which I am trying to be patient about but it also seems to be really out of shape on the right side of the tip like it is bent. I have added the pics to help but my doc said I just need to keep massaging but it just doesnt seem to be helping and I am really worried

A: You may want to get a second opinion about the appearance of your nose, 2 months following Rhinoplasty Surgery.

I read your concerns and reviewed your photos:

Frankly, I can't explain the changes your nose has taken over the last two months. It's certainly too early to consider revision rhinoplasty right now. The earliest this could be performed is 6 months post-op, but if your nose is still swollen at that time, it may be best for you to wait a year.

At this point, you may want to consult an expert rhinoplasty surgeon to help you sort this out and see what might be best for you.

Hope this helps.
