After Laser Hair Removal - Looks Like Scars, Are They Permanent? (photo)

I got the Laser hair removal on my legs couple of days back. I still have some bumps on my legs, and they look like scars and blisters now. Am I at a risk of having them permanently? If not, what can i do to make them heal. Any response at the earliest would be helpful, i am so worried!!!

A: Please see your dermatologist

It looks like you have bruising more than anything...perhaps the pulse width on the laser setting was too short.  I agree completely with everything Dr. Calkin said.

Are There Any Problems with Laser Hair Removal While Breastfeeding?

Are There Any Problems with Laser Hair Removal While Breastfeeding?

A: laser hair removal safe while breastfeeding but....

Agree with the other docs answers that there is no harm from laser hair removal while breastfeeding except for possible increase in hyperpigmentation but i would be careful not to use a topical anesthetic as there is absorption (although low) into your bloodstream. There are studies which show that breastfeeding women given lidocaine intravenously have excretion into breast milk but I did not see any studies about topical anesthetics. The amount the baby would absorb would be minimal but there is a potential for allergic reactions.

Best Hair Removal Laser for a Latin Girl?

I want to start a laser hair removal treatment. But I am not sure which is the best laser for me. My hair is dark and my background is latin. My skin is kind of similar to Penelope Cruz. I read the YAG-ND is good for dark skin, but is not that effective. I added my pic. Thanks.

A: Nd:YAG laser for hair removal in darker skin types

Agree with the other docs. 1064 Nd:YAG is the safest device for darker skin types. Efficacy is similar to other types of lasers. There are a number of good Nd:YAG lasers from different manufacturers. As always - try to find an experienced office to avoid complications.
