Prophylacti bilateral mastectomy in 2008 with nipple reconstruction using c-v flap. They are flattened. I have tried injectable filler Radiesse... with barely noticeable results. Is it possible to re-do and result in more palpable projection? I have also considered trying a product called Nipplettes, which is mostly for inverted nipples. Mine are a different situation and involve scar tissue. Thanks for any help and options.
Unfortunately, nipple projection can deteriorate over time. I use alloderm to help increase projection for secondary nipple procedures
I got a quote of 13,000 for implants, a lift and fixing of some scar tissue on my right breast due to two lumpectomy's. I'm going to have both breasts done. Does this seem expensive to you?I live in the CherryHill N.J. area. Thankyou for your help, Diana
That sounds a bit pricey to me. I might recommend that she do get several other opinions regarding cost other procedure options, etc. For your geographic location this might be an average cost or it might be an outlier. If this is an outlier it would be wise to find out what the reason is. Perhaps there is a part of this operation that he did not explain well to you that would justify the increase cost. When the other hand, other doctors may come in at significantly higher prices, making his puote price a bargain.
It sounds like you need to do more homework.
I had a double mastectomy in August 2005. I still have tissue expanders in due to a series of events that made it impossible to get to and from appointments. Has anyone had this experience or heard of this (expanders being left in so long)? Is it likely that there is mold growth inside of my expanders because of the length of time they have been in?
Tissue expanders are really a specialized breast implant. What is important for you to know is that they are made to the same sterility standards as regular implants. Regular implants should not have mold in them, neither should your expanders.
I would recommend that you go back in the near future to complete your care. Just commit to doing it, no more excuses, just do it. You will feel relieved that you did.
