10 Days Post Op, Still Not Able to Stand Up Straight After FTT Surgery, Why is That?

Hello, I'm 10 days post op and I was wondering should I still have difficulties with standing up straight? I unable to stand for a long period of time because getting horriable back pain if I do. IS this normal for almost 11 days post op?

A: Standing straight following tummy tuck

It is not uncommon to find it difficult to stand  10 days after a full abdominoplasty.  Back pain typically follows this sustained poor posture.  Over the next few days, this should greatly improve.  Try gentle massage to help loosen things up, but only under your MDs direction.  As for the back pain, this should improve as your posture improves.

Having a Full Tuck After a Mini Tuck. Need Advice On Timing.

I had a mini tuck on September 26th,2011. which i opted for over the full. I am not satisfied with the results. Me and my PS talked about doing a full tuck. He said I could have it done whenever I was ready. Is it safe to to ahead and have the full tuck done in the next week or so? Or do I need to wait to heal. According to him, I can have it whenever I want. Just wanting to ask different opinions. Thanks for the advice!!

A: Repeat tummy tuck

Revisions are, unfortunately, a part of plastic surgery.  Due to some issues with wound healing, it is advisable to wait at least 12 weeks until your secondary procedure.  Though this number is an estimate, the wound has to appear healed, with no drainage, redness, or swelling.  If it takes additional time for the incision to heal, then let it do so.  Remember, you want your skin and other tissues to be nice and soft, so they may be tightened appropriately.  Best wishes.

Mid 30 Year Old Male is Recti Muscle Repair Required

I lost about 100 lbs about 10 years ago and have some moderate loose skin in the lower abdomen area. I was recently quoted 11k in the suburbs of Chicago for a full tummy tuck with recti repair and vasor lipo of the flanks. It this totally out of line? Is it the Recti muscle repair that is pushing the price up. Overall the surgeon is suggesting 4 hours of procedure time. If I lost additional weight could the amount of time i.e. price decrease?

A: Muscle tightening

It may not be necessary for tightening of the muscles.  This part of the procedure does not increase the cost by much, if at all.  The price seems reasonable for a major city.  Here in the suburbs, the cost is somewhat less.  If you lost more weight, the procedure would still take roughly 4 hours, keeping the price in the same range.  Congratulations on your weight loss.
