I'm a mother of 4, and after having 4 really big babies, my core was gone.I was left with severe back pain, a bulging tummy, the famous "mommy apron", hernia, and diastasis recti. I tried PT but it didn't help. After consulting with several specialists and therapist, my only option for relief was a tummy tuck. A friend introduced me to Dr. Moister and I scheduled my surgery 2 weeks after my consult. Dr. Moister explained my options and I was able to leave his office with all my questions and concerns addressed. We chose his outpatient facility for the surgery. It was all such a good experience. I woke up in hardly any pain at all, and while the first 2 days had the most pain, by day 4 I was only using tylenol and advil for the soreness. I am now 11 days post op and I am so incredibly impressed with how well my body is healing and how amazing my body looks. The incision looks smooth and my belly button looks normal-which I was a little nervous about, but i'm happy with it! What's even better, despite being in bed a lot or hunching over, I have had NO back pain! Dr. Moister was available for any concerns I had during my recovery. Regarding bedside manner, Dr. Moister is compassionate and makes sure you feel comfortable. His staff is kind and I really felt like I had an entire team supporting and helping me, instead of just being a patient left with an after hours number. I am planning a breast reduction next and will be using his outpatient facility again. Updated on 7 Jun 2021: Week 5. I’m still having some swelling but the skin tightness isn’t as bad so I’m able to mostly stand up straight now. I’m much more active this week but have moments of soreness and fatigue.
I cannot speak to the cost difference in your location, but in my practice these procedures are used to address similar but different areas of concern are not interchangeable. I would recommend having an in person consultation with someone familiar and experienced with both procedures.
In my practice it is possible to perform muscle repair after removal of a submuscular implant. The success of this depends on a variety of factors including the size of the implant removed, health of the muscle, the degree of muscle release performed at the time of surgery (the pectoralis muscle is rarely if ever "fully released"), and the degree of scarring around the implant.
Thank you for your question. Your degree of facial asymmetry is does not appear significantly noticeable in your pictures. Additionally, facelift surgery tends to decrease the elasticity of skin. I would not recommend a face lift, mini or otherwise.
This is an excellent question and one that is being actively studied. Fat grafting can be performed in individuals with insulin resistance safely, but the effect of insulin resistance on results is not well understood. Factors such as surgical technique and handling of the fat graft play a more substantial role in quality of your results so I recommend finding a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in the procedure and having a full discussion.
There are many factors that increase the likelihood of an issue when undergoing an abdominoplasty, including a previous incision such as yours. However, it is possible that you can still undergo abdominoplasty with a low risk of complication. I'd recommend scheduling an in person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. It is always useful to bring the operative note from your previous abdominal procedures with you to this appointment.
