Can Botox Help Eye Twitches and Would Insurance Cover It?

My right eye twitches and closes hard sometimes during the day. When I sleep the muscles are always tense. I rub it during the day to make it stop. It's starting to give me wrinkles. Is there a medical term for this twitch? Would Botox help this at all? Would insurance pay for some of it? How could I prove it's for uncontrollable twitching and not just the wrinkles? One doctor told me he thinks my twitching is mental and not muscle spasms. Does that matter? It happens in my sleep.

A: essential blepharospasm What you are describing sounds like essential blepharospasm. It is one of the first things treated with botox, the wrinkles came later. While you never know for sure what an insurance company will cover many times it would be covered.

Can Crow's Feet Be Merely Softened with Botox?

I'm a 52 yr old male. I hoped to have my crow's feet subtly softened but not eliminated. After my first Botox injections the crow's feet are completely gone. Can less Botox be given next time to leave some of the lines? Is this hard to do? Is this an uncommon request?

A: Yes

By altering the amount of botox you can get less of an effect.  It may take several times to get the mix just right so be patient with your doctor.

Good Luck,

Is Botox Appropriate for Nasolabial Lines?

My main concern are nasolabial lines. I've read about frown and brow lines; is Botox appropriate?

A: Fillers are often the best answer

Depending upon your skin quality filler are the best option. If your skin is very loose you my also need a skin tightening procedure such as a facelift. This can be determined by a qualified plastic surgeon.

Good luck!
