I have had 650cc breast implants put in when my breasts were a saggy b cup and i weighed 150 lbs. I went through another preganancy last year and gained 25 lbs. I want to get a lift and implant removal. I want to lose 50 pounds. Should I get the removal and the lift after I lose the weight? In two seperate operations?
Your plan to lose 50 pounds is admirable. This weight loss will significantly change the size and shape of your breasts. It's best to wait until your weight is stable, so that you and your surgeon can make a plan based on a breast shape & size that has also stabilized.
It may be that you either downsize the implants or remove the implant altogether, and get a lift - this could all be done at the same time.
Best wishes!
I know many PS remove/replace. I would like someone that is experienced in removing without replacing to give best results.
There are plenty of talented surgeons in Michigan. Dr. Dennis Hammond in Grand Rapids, Dr. Rick Beil and Paul Cederna in Ann Arbor - all excellent, just to name a few.
I don't know anybody of the top of my head in Flint / Saginaw area...but ASAPS website has a great locate-a-surgeon feature, which would be a great place to start
Dear Doctors, I was explanted with capsulectomy 7 days ago, at my request due to implants being too large (375g/dual plane) and thinking I could return to my previous state. My surgeon recommended a smaller implant, rather than explant. My choice was wrong, and I now wish to do as he advised and have smaller implants "redone"...how long do I need to wait for this procedure after explant? Many thanks!
I'm sorry to hear that you feel you made the wrong decision. Right now, at 1 week post-op, the tissues are inflammed and swollen, and are not optimal for re-do surgery. It's wise to wait until this settles down.
Most surgeons would recommend about a 3-6 month time period for this.
All the best,
