Dr. Ashkan Afshari is a double board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in body, breast, and facial procedures. After earning his Master of Science and Medical Doctorate, he completed an intensive five-year general surgery residency and earned his board certification in general surgery from the American Board of Surgery. He then began conducting in-depth research in plastic surgery with a focus on safety in cosmetic surgery. He continued his journey with rigorous training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, which is considered one of the top plastic surgery residency programs in the country. Being a high-volume center, he was able to perfect his craft and deliver outstanding results to his patients. Dr. Afshari then earned his board certification in plastic surgery from the American Board of Plastic Surgery, earning the title of a double board-certified plastic surgeon. Dr. Afshari’s efforts to the advancement of plastic surgery are evident in his contributions to numerous scientific journals including the Aesthetic Surgery Journal and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (PRS) Journal. He served as a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) Virtual Grand Rounds subcommittee where he had the opportunity to moderate lectures given by world-renowned plastic surgeons. He is also a candidate member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Dr. Afshari cherishes the opportunity to change people’s lives on a daily basis and help them truly feel comfortable in their own skin. He strongly believes in a patient-centered approach and focuses on what you are hoping to accomplish - he will never suggest a surgery you do not want or simply do not need. Once he is able to get a full understanding of your goals, he will craft a surgical plan tailored to your unique needs to deliver natural, beautiful results. His advice for all patients considering plastic surgery is clear - only move forward if this is for YOU, not for anyone else. Secondly, it is highly important that you choose your plastic surgeon wisely. Not only should you choose someone you can trust, but also a surgeon that will truly listen to you.
I don’t think I will ever go to a different plastic surgeon. Both he and his staff have been incredible. My surgery was 2 weeks ago and my results are already better than I expected. He revised my tt scar and bellybutton from a different surgeon’s work. I am not exaggerating, my bellybutton looked like a cat [RS bleep] before Dr. Afshari got a hold of it. Dr Afshari took this tummy tuck by someone else and revised some of it to make it look exactly how I wanted it to from the beginning. With his (obviously) laser superhuman vision and skillful hands he made my bellybutton look better than it has ever looked in my 41 years on this earth. If you’re looking for a bellybutton revision or just a new bellybutton in general (weird but go awff) and you’ve got some dollars to throw around .. you’ll find a guy on IG in Virginia… he’s known as THE belly button king, Don’t go to him… I’m going to sound so cheesy but I don’t even care … I found the Florida Bellybutton king before anyone gave him that title.. because well, I just gave it to him in this review. I’ve seen so many bellybuttons after tummy tucks and so many suboptimal ones (most of them, really) that it makes me wonder how a surgeon didn’t attend the bellybutton seminar, watch the bellybutton YouTube, or read the bellybutton book and just chose to do whatever with it when everyone knows it’s the focal point of the stomach… I wonder, since the bellybutton is the last part of tt surgery maybe a majority of the plastic surgeons out there are just over it after sewing that long cut on a tt and just Frankensteining these bellybuttons … I digress, I didn’t go to medical school so my analysis of what happens in the OR is probably never going to make it into a medical journal so I’ll stop commenting on that. The point I’m trying to make is Dr. Afshari is not growing weary after sewing your tummy up, he’s feeling refreshed, warmed up even, for the task of making you look not-surgeried (surgeried is a word, yes) by NOT giving you a less-than-pretty-obvious-tummy-tuck bellybutton. He’s out here doing the Lord’s work. I know I only had a bellybutton and scar revision by him but his IG will prove how skilled he is in a variety of human parts. All my friends have told me they are taking shots from my bellybutton once it’s healed… and I can’t lie, I wish I could take one from it too… I’m not that bendy though.
Just turned 40. Mother of 4. Very saggy boobies of course. Had my first child at 17 and lost perkiness immediately. This surgery was along time coming. My sister found HZ Plastic Surgery in Orlando FL. My Dr was Dr. Afshari. I AM SO HAPPY WITH MY TREATMENT AND ESPECIALLY MY RESULTS. The whole staff is so kind and professional. They went out of their way to make sure I was informed leading up to my surgery and comfortable during and after. I'm excited to see how they settle and fluff. I am so happy with my decision. 415cc under the muscle. Moderate profile. Updated on 29 Nov 2022: I’m on day nine. The pain subsided about four to five days ago. I’m finally doing massages. I was so worried it would hurt, but they don’t. And they have actually helped me feel more comfortable. I wanted 450cc, but Dr. Afshari didn’t believe it would be best. I’m so glad I trusted him because my skin is at capacity with stretching. The massages help the skin stretch. I’m loving what it’s starting to look like. Dr. Afshari is an artist. Updated on 30 Nov 2022: I am loving everything about my new twins I’m looking forward to when my scars aren’t as tender. Massaging has helped a lot. Last night was the first night I slept thru the night and didn’t wake up from the tightness discomfort. Updated on 6 Dec 2022: Just removed my tapes. They were causing all that redness that’s present. I literally feel so much better now. Dr. Afshari is amazing! My nipples are perfect. My shape is symmetrical! My scars are so clean! I am so thankful I chose to trust him! My left breast is slightly larger than my right breast naturally and I didn’t ask him to correct it. It’s not noticeable to the naked eye and it’s been like hat my whole life so I don’t mind. Looking forward to starting my scar treatments! Overall super satisfied! Updated on 12 Dec 2022: Today is the first day of my 4th week. I’m still a little sore around the nipples and the anchor incision. My skin is still stretching around my cleavage. I get a little itchy around the bottom incision. I’m looking forward to not feeling anymore soreness. Still loving my results. Updated on 24 Dec 2022: Everything is moving along nicely. However this afternoon I was surprised with this. My right breast was already doing that, but my left boob did not look like this this morning. Should I be concerned? It’s Christmas Eve so I’ll wait until after Christmas to call. I have a virtual appointment on the 2nd of January. It’s Christmas time and I’ve been indulging in some wine. Could that be causing problems? Updated on 30 Jan 2023: Tus has been the best experience ever. I finally stared my scar care this week. My incisions opened so I had to wait a bit to start. My twins are dropping and I’m loving how fun getting dressed is now. Definitely happy with my decision an results so far.
A facelift is designed to conceal the incision while removing some excess skin and tightening deeper structures to create the results you are inquiring about. Direct excision over the jawline to excise skin would not produce improved contour of the jawline as it would not address the deeper structures; and it would not be an optimal incision location. I would suggest being evaluated by a plastic surgeon so that you can receive a recommendation tailored to your goals.
