Moderate chemical peel on my face,& on my eyelids/scars on Wednesday, Thursday I had my permanent eyeliner done. 1st the topical did not work at all and she had to stop and put more topical on. The topical wore off within the hour. Within 12 hours my face were the topical had been applied had 1st & 2nd degree burns. A freak thing or a combination of 2 chemicals?
Anything is possible, although this is not likely. It is more likely that you had a contact dermatitis to the topical medicine. I urge you to see your dermatologist or the physician who performed the peel for you so that you can have the contact dermatitis treated. Doing so early and aggressively will lessen the likelihood of long-term changes. In the future, you should allow some time between procedures to give the best possibility of healing.
I am an African American female with medium complextion. I have fairly large pores on my face on the cheek area, acne scaring as well as blackheads under the skin. I also have some discoloration from sun damage and acne. My plastic surgeon is recommending Melanage Chemical Peel. I know it will help with discoloration but what about the enlarged pores and under the skin blackheads? I have already tried other chemical peels, to no avail! Thank you.
I have used Melanage successfully for this type of color and consider it an excellent treatment. There is always a chance of darker skin after peeling, but it has not been an issue. Emptying out the pores will make them appear smaller, and keeping them empty with light peels, facials and topicals will help. The "underground" blackheads are another issue. An evaluation for acne treatment with isotretinoin may be indicated.
A couple of weeks ago my mom went to get a face peeling. she says that went they apply the chemicals she had a big burning sensation, but she didnt complaint that much because she figure it was normal. its been 6 weeks so far and her face its still really really red and kinda burn. what can she do about it?
I don't know what they used, and I don't know what your mom's face was like before the peel - I bet she had some rosacea and probably wasn't the best candidate for a peel. Also, don't know if she was fully sun protected for weeks before the peel. One OTC product she can try to reduce the burning is RAPIPROFEN - available on the internet. it's successfully been used for shingles, superficial burns, even tendonitis and broken toes! It can be applied as a spray several times a day, and is not a steroid so there is no risk of thinning the skin, even if used long term. Also, please don't apply any products with lots of chemicals in them - bland soap, tepid water, physical sunblock should be used everyday. Good luck!
