I am a 22 year old female and have been considering an endo brow lift for years now ..Im unhappy with my eyebrows and would like them to be higher which is more attractive to me.. am I too young to undergo this procedure? and will it last or will my brows 'drop' as I read this is a common thing that happens following an endo browlift? Thanks in advance for your answer!
Browlift is a great surgical procedure for the aging upper face, but age 22 is too young to consider this option. The endoscopic browlift technique is less invasive, however the results lack the longevity of an open browlift. Within a few years after endoscopic browlift, it is common for the drooping to recur. If you feel absolutely compelled to make any changes in your upper face at this age, I would recommend trying Botox or Dysport, which will give a temporary (3 month) lift to this area when properly injected.
I had an endobrow lift over a year ago, lateral brows have fallen. My inner upper eyelid junctions are more hollowed out. From an aesthetic standpoint, does it make more sense to have the upper eyelid junctions filled in, and some type of filler placed under the lateral brow to try to raise first, or have the facelift and necklift first? The doctor who would be doing the surgery said he could also do a lateral browlift at the same time. Does filling in under lateral brows work? Surgery and fillers have to be done by two different doctors. Thanks.
Fillers, in general, should be done after the surgical procedure (in this case facelift plus browlift) has been completed. If done prior to surgery, the appearance of the filler may become distorted. It is best to wait several weeks after surgery, so that most of the postoperative swelling has resolved. However, if fat grafts are used to correct volume loss instead of fillers, the grafts are placed at the time of surgery, immediately after the facelift and/or browlift are finished.
People tell me it's all in my head (no pun intended), but I've always been self-conscious about my forehead. I find my eyebrows don't help, as they don't have a very high arch. I was wondering if a brow lift would make much of a difference in the size of my forehead. Please advise.
A forehead lift (also known as browlift) can either reduce or enlarge the forehead depending on the incision used. If the incision is done at the hairline, the length of the forehead is shortened. The tradeoff of the hairline incision is a slight scar which can be hidden with appropriate hairstyling.
If the incision is created entirely within the hairbearing scalp, the scar will be invisible, but the hairline will be raised and the forehead lengthened. Occasionally, in individuals who have insufficient hair in the frontal forehead area, short scar or endoscopic lifts can be done. However, these sorts of lifts tend to give a more subtle improvement that may not last as long as a standard forehead lift. A full , in-person consultation with a board certfied plastic surgeon is the best way to decide which, if any, of the browlift techniques is right for you.
