I want to laser off my tattooed half sleeve because I'm not satisfied with the work ... but I want to get a whole new sleeve on top of the same area where I want the old tattoos removed ... is this possible ? Or is it dangerous and bad for the skin ?
Hi D. Absolutely you can remove your old tattoo. We do this very commonly for Orange County patients looking to get rid of their tattoos or to cover over them with another.
The color of your tattoo, type of ink, depth of placement, laser used and quality of the practitioner will all have an effect on how many treatments the tattoo takes to remove and how much it will ultimately cost.

I've received 35 tattoo removal laser treatments and have significant keloid scarring. I've just started laser scar removal treatments. First in April, 2nd in July. The pics are this week (Aug. 25th). At the most recent treatment, the doc injected some steroid into the scarring. Am I going about this in the right way? What other options do I have? Anything cosmetic possible? How effective is the laser I'm using for the scarring? Any other advise thanks
I am sorry to hear that you formed a keloid after your tattoo removal. It sounds like you are on the right track. Steroid injections into the scars are an excellent way to flatten them. In our practice, we typically do these injections four weeks apart. It is difficult to tell from your photos, but if you have some redness to your scars, a pulsed dye laser is ideal to help fade this. Unfortunately, given the size and location, you would not be a candidate for surgical revision. Just remember that the goal is improvement , not complete eradication.
So i made a very stupid mistake, i got this tattoo thinking it was going to make me feel so good about myself. i know i should have thought about it more.. but i didn't :( i don't want to be stuck with this for the rest of my life.. i cry everyday because i wish i could take it back. the tattoo is a Ganesha i got it done professionally so its a well done tattoo. its has no color just black and shading its on my upper arm and its a pretty large tattoo 6inches tall and 3inches wide. Please help
This is an ideal situation for tattoo removal. The tatto is dark ink and relatively new. Both these factors are working in your favor. In our practice, we see an excellent response with Q-switched Yag lasers. As mentioned above, tattoo removal is a process, meaning that multiple sessions will be needed.
