Why is There No Topical Doxycycline for Skin Disorders?

Topical Doxycycline

Not all medications can be topical vs. oral because the efficacy isn't the same. Doxycycline is a tetracycline antibiotic and works to treat acne in an oral capacity only. There is a doxycycline topical hyclate but it treats periodontitis, not acne.
