Thank you for your question. These procedures can be done at the same time, which can be beneficial as there will then only be one anesthesia and one recovery. A well-done facelift will not widen your nose. Best of luck!
It really doesn't matter which procedure is done first, and actually, you can do both at the same time, which is what most of our patients do. That way, you can have only one anesthesia, one recovery time, and the combo price may be a little less expensive. Be sure to see a facial specialist for consultation.
Either procedure can be done first; it depends on which aspect of your face bothers you more. A facelift usually takes about 3 months to see optimal results but subtle refinements can be seen after that. It will not widen your nose. Rhinoplasty takes at least a year— longer in revision cases, to see the final result. It is certainly safe to perform a rhinoplasty and facelift together but if your revision is extensive your surgeon may want to stage the procedures.
Hello, and thank you for your question. Combining surgeries like a facelift and rhinoplasty are already routinely performed. In fact, it is ideal to combine procedures when you have more than one aesthetic goal. It would also mean less anesthesia, one recovery period, lower cost, and more dramatic results. If you prefer to have the procedures separately, speak with your surgeon. Which procedure should be performed first will all depend on the surgical approach, techniques used, and your goals. I highly recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon. During your consultation, your surgeon can assess your skin quality and facial profile, customize the best treatment plan, thoroughly discuss the procedures, and ensure the safest and best possible outcome.
Hi and thanks for the question! In short, it does not matter which is done first. Neither surgery changes the shape of the other part of the face. I have done many facelift/ rhinoplasty combinations at the same time for patients so they just have one recovery period. If you can only have one done I would pick the surgery that you care about most to be done first so you have more time to enjoy it. I hope this helps and best of luck with your journey!
Hello @myscreenname thank you for your question. It all depends on the specialist surgical technique, from there is defined if the procedure should be done separately or perform the Rhinoplasty first to avoid generating subsequent inflammation in the tissues to be repositioned. The best course of action is to consult one or several board certified plastic surgeon for more information and options tailored specifically to your needs. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD FACS
You may want to discuss doing both at the same time. This would have the benefit of one recovery and lower over cost. A facelift should not change the shape of your nose.
Lots of answers and no pictures to base a good answer. So, it depends on the revision that you need for your rhinoplasty and what kind of facelift you require. Also it depends on how comfortable and experienced your surgeon is for both types of surgery. Optimally, the facelift first, but, sometimes both can be performed at the same time. If the revision rhinoplasty does not require bone fractures, either can be performed first.
Depending on the estimated time for each procedure, you could consider doing them at the same time. In this case, you would do the facelift first and then the rhinoplasty. If staged, either one can be done first with 4-6 weeks in between. The facelift shouldn't widen your nose.
If your rhinoplasty surgeon plans on using general anesthesia in which you are intubated, you need to wait a longer period of time before getting the facelift. It does require manipulation of your jaw and face for intubation so your lift needs to be completely healed. If its under local anesthesia with sedation, then it really doesn't matter which is done first.
Hello, and thank you for providing images along with your question. Based on your photos, you appear to be a good candidate for tear trough fillers and a neck lift. By injecting small amounts of filler around the tear trough, we can add subtle volume that smooths out the visible groove in the...
General anesthesia or sedation + local anesthesia are both excellent options to perform a facelift ; The choice will depend on the Plastic surgeon and anesthesia team in a way they feel comfortable to perform the surgery and giving the patient a good experience on a safe way trough the process.
Firstly, it is better for me if you can send some pictures for better evaluation. Dimple loss can happen after some techniques of face lift, they may move or be distorted. Because a cheek dimple is a phenomenon happening between the dermis (skin) and the facial muscle under it, a technique that...
