70 pound weight loss - BBL or tummy tuck first? (Photos)

Recently lost 70+ lbs 5ft 157lbs now and I’m wanting to get a bbl but unsure if I should get a tummy tuck or bbl first? Some surgeons advised I do tummy tuck first then lipo with bbl but wouldnt that make me have loose skin on my stomach?

Thank you for your question and photos. Based on these photos only, without the benefit of a physical examination, there's no right answer. You can have the liposuction and BBL first, abdominoplasty first then the liposuction and BBL or combine them into one procedure. Your BMI is 34, which is on the high side, limiting what one can do and the results you get from from a combined procedure. AS a Total Definer surgeon, I would personally prefer to two your surgery in two stages to achieve the best body transformation. I would suggest to do an abdominoplasty with muscle plication and liposuction of the full abdomen, pubic area, anterior rib cage and lateral chest wall. At a second stage, you would benefit from upper and lower back liposuction, lower back fat pad, waist and upper hips liposuction. Fat transfer can be done to the buttocks and lateral hips for shaping and enhancement. See a board certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in advanced body sculpting techniques for an in person consultation/evaluation. Good luck.

Excellent question. I am not sure why you are needing to stage these operations as it is perfectly safe and reasonable to do a BBL at the same time as a tummy tuck, and honestly much better to combine them into one recovery period instead of having two separate recovery periods. If you do want to do them staged, then there is no question the BBL needs to come first. The liposuction will create loose skin which can then be removed at the time of the tummy tuck. If you do the tummy tuck first then the fat will be removed as part of the liposuction and discarded, so it can't be used for your BBL. If you do a tummy tuck without liposuction first then you are absolutely right that you will have loose skin after you come back for the BBL and get the liposuction. I'd keep looking for the right surgeon, it doesn't sound like you've found  what you need yet. Best of luck!

Based on these photos I would suggest to do abdominoplasty/ tummy tuck first. It will significantly change your body appearance and create good framework for next stage of body contouring. There will be plenty of fat left to use for BBL. Good luck.

Your photos show a large amount of loose abdominal skin with an overhang, and this can only be corrected by a tummy tuck, so the advice you received is correct. Your worry is backwards. Doing liposuction and a BBL first would leave the abdominal skin even looser. The two procedures can be combined in one operation, but the ideal sequence is the tummy tuck first and the BBL as a second stage, which keeps each surgery safer and gives a better buttock result once your body has settled. In your case I would recommend an extended tummy tuck, because the excess skin continues around to the flanks and a standard incision would not remove it. I would also be honest that your photos suggest there is still a fair amount of intra abdominal fat, which is the fat behind the muscle wall that liposuction and a tummy tuck cannot remove. Losing some more weight before surgery would give you a flatter result and would also lower your surgical risk. Aim for a stable weight for several months before you book.
