“Regret Not Getting Traditional...”
I am having the same experience with my Seattle dentist. I got three consults--one from a professor at UW who told me braces would definitely be the way to go, another from a private dentist who came highly recommended who refused to do Invisalign for me, and the last from my historic dentist who also teaches. When he told me he needed to file my lower teeth, I was terrified--because I'd come... more
“60 Year Old Woman with Invisalign -...”
I am an RN, married mother of 2 grown children. As a child I had good, regular dental care, braces were not needed. As I got older, one of my upper front teeth gradually started to protrude, my bottom teeth became crowded and I had a crossbite. Oddly enough, it bothered me most when I saw photos of myself. I got braces at 40, then unfortunately did not wear my retainers. My teeth shifted back.... more
“Hoping for a Straight Smile and...”
My teeth relapsed after having braces as a pre-teen and I wanted a solution to straighten my teeth and correct my bite without having metal braces again.Started my first set of aligners. Very easy, no pain at all. I saw the Clinicheck video, and the results look perfect. I have quite a few attachments for rubberbands, I'm not really looking forward to. The biggest change over the first couple... more
“So Far, So Good! - Puyallup, WA”
Just starting my invisalign treatment and so far, I'm pretty impressed. On my first aligner now, I will have 23 aligners so my orthodontist says this should take between 12-14 months. So far it has been pretty easy. The longest part was waiting after the impressions were done before my aligners got in but after that, I've been on a roll. I'll try to update if needed but so far,... more
“Invisalign Process for 40+ Year Old...”
I'm a 40+ year old male who has decided to finally address crooked teeth, fangs, and other unhappy aspects of my smile. I've just started the Invisalign process. I began by going to 3 consultations with reputable orthos in Seattle. All of the doctors arrived at the conclusion that Invisalign would help me get a substantial improvement in the orientation of the teeth, but would not help... more
“I'm on Day 2 and I Am in So Much Pain.”
After several consultations with dentists and orthodontists I decided to go with an orthodontist to provide my invisalign treatment. Although slightly more expensive with the orthodontist ($200-300 more), I value the knowledge and experience an orthodontist has and feel like I am more likely to have a successful treatment. Plus, during my consultation with the orthodontist, he mentioned... more
“Teeth Moved Fast with Little Pain or...”
I had braces when I was a kid, but my bottom teeth had moved quite a bit since then, one tooth turning sideways and others becoming crooked. I had a few people over the years tease me about my "vampire" teeth -- a couple of teeth I didn't realize had started to seem like they were sticking up because they were turning. It doesn't happen overnight, and the first tray or two hurt a bit at... more
“Invisalign - Worried About Progrss...”
I'm on invisalign tray 6 of 17 for uppers and 6 of 20 for lowers. Two of the teeth on the lower trays have impressions for buttons. However, it will be tray 9 before my next appointment and the ortho still hasn't attached buttons to my teeth. Is it normal to have impressions for buttons, but not have anything attached to my teeth for them to grab? The buttons were meant for smooth teeth... more
I'm on my 5th day of wearing the aligners and I couldn't be happier. Nobody notices that I'm wearing them unless we're up close and I point them out. The pain has been very mild - just enough to know they're working. I can already see my two front teeth getting straighter. I feel like maybe I paid a bit too much but I feel very confident that I found a great orthodontist. He is one... more
“VERY Happy with the Results...not...”
I started in March 2008 and I have 13 trays (both top and bottom), a total of 26 weeks. I am on tray set # 9. I am completely satisfied with everything about Invisalign. Granted, the pressure (not pain) is annoying when I first switch trays every two weeks. But after the 6th set, I stopped taking advil since it's tolerable pressure. My dentist is awesome and has been upfront with me... more
“Straight Teeth Without the Pain of...”
I have been doing Invisalign now for about 9 months. I wouldn't say I love it (it can be uncomfortable or even a bit painful at times) but I am incredibly happy with the results so far. I never had braces when I was younger. And at 29, I certainly didn't want an eye-catching mouth full of metal. When I went in for a consultation, the dentist palpably exuded excitement. According to him,... more
“Absolutely Wonderful, But, It Might...”
I am at the very end of my treatment. I started in October of 2006 and it is now March of 2008. My treatment was supposed to take 10-12 months, so it has gone a bit over. However, the reason for this is that once I got through all of my aligners, we had to "tweak" a tooth, so it has taken a bit longer than expected. However, WELL worth the money, 100%. Just be sure to find an orthodontist... more
