I am an Asian male in my early 20s. I have a really weak chin which runs in my family, but my chin is particularly recessive. I would like to know what are the options for me to improve my profile and to create a stronger chin. Please also state any good cosmetic surgeons in NYC and also the approx. price of a chin augmentation (in regards to the procedure needed to be done). I would also like to know the amount of time for recovery since I am a young working professional.
Chin augmentation is a simple procedure that can be performed under local anesthesia whereby a small ½ inch incision is made underneath the chin so that a chin implant can be placed across the chin line. The size of the implant is usually selected at the time of consultation. There is usually a price of approximately $3000 and patients usually have about one to two weeks of significant swelling around the chin area.
I live in a conservative place where I can tell people I had a deviated septum to get away with the rhinoplasty. But, if people knew I had a chin implant, I'd literally have to leave this town... or get it removed quickly if a close friend noticed. Has anyone every done a good size 1 on a male? I'm afraid of a size 2, and def afraid of a 3 or 4. Since no one can know about this, I really want to do the intra-oral approach even though it may be more risky.
It is very uncommon to use a size one implant in a male. The level of augmentation is so minimal that there is a concern that the result will be too subtle.
2 weeks ago i hand chin implant 9mm with wings , i had a receeding chin from the lateral side view bt i loved my face from the front , now i feel like my face is way too long and specially the lower part of my face , my smile too is restricted and my lower lip covers my lower teeth this bothers me i used to love my smile :( , should i wait for 3 months or i have too replace it with a smaller one , i had nose job 6 months before the chin btw
It's too soon to say if your implant is too large. There is swelling in the area still that should continue to subside over the next several weeks. I don't necessarily get the impression that your face is too long now on frontal view. It may be that you're not used to the different appearance.
