I had a rhinoplasty and septoplasty by Dr shvidler about 16 months ago. I am so happy with my results. I used to not be able to breathe through my nose without opening my mouth to get more air, because I was unable to get enough air. Now I can comfortably breathe through my nose all of the time. I am also so happy with the appearance. My nose used to be my biggest insecurity, and it is now something I feel really confident about. The change looks super natural but so much better. My experience meeting with him as well as the day of the surgery all went super smoothly. I would definitely recommend him!
My ENT recommended Dr. Shvidler to perform nasal valve collapse repair surgery. He corrected my deviated septum and reduced my turbinates while also adding cartilage grafts to widen my nasal passages. The secondary effect was a slight change to the physical appearance of my nose – Dr. Shvidler was up front and communicated everything in an easy to understand manner, patiently answering all my questions. My breathing has improved significantly, which in turn has positively affected my sleep. I'm very happy with the results of my physical nose, which was secondary for me, BUT very important! I’m sorry I didn’t find Seattle Facial / Dr. Shvidler sooner!
Great experience with Dr. Shvidler at Seattle Facial Plastic Surgery. Could not recommend enough. I was referred to Dr. Shvidler by my ENT for my collapsed nasal valve and deviated septum. My breathing issues were really affecting my quality of life and I have always been insecure about the size and crookedness of my nose. The consult was easy and quick, and Dr. Shvidler was able to explain to me in terms my non-medical brain could understand of how we could fix my breathing issues and give me the nose I’ve always dreamed of. The office staff along with the nurses and other medical staff were all fantastic. I appreciated the good communication and kindness from everyone there. I was able to get scheduled very easily and the process with insurance approval was very painless. The day of surgery was a breeze - their surgical facilities are right next to their office and I was in and out quickly. Healing was MUCH easier than I anticipated. Pain meds only for about 24 hours post op, minimal bleeding after a couple of days, and I was able to sleep fine even with being propped up by pillows. Recovery is not painful and I was amazed at all that Dr. Shvidler could do with out making any incisions. By the time I got my cast removed a week after surgery my bruising was very minor and my swelling was not bad. I was thrilled with my initial results and even happier now that swelling has subsided in my nose!! I would say my breathing issues are 90% better. To be able to just breathe in and out of my nose without any struggle feels like a miracle. I am thrilled with the shape and appearance of my nose as well. The change is subtle but notable at the same time. Dr. Shvidler was able to give me a nose that is soft and feminine but also true to my character, face, and heritage. Some surgeons seem to give everyone the same button-y looking nose and that is definitely not the case for Dr. Shvidler. I say that I still look like me, just better. I’m still amazed at the miracles of medicine and the skill and artistry Dr. Shvidler possesses. Thanks again doc!!

After several breaks in my nose from sports injuries, left me with horrible breathing and a crooked nose and dorsal hump. I had been wanting Rhinoplasty forever and SO happy I went with Seattle Facial! Dr. Shivdler exceeded my expectations as I wanted a more sculpted nose and had high hopes for my post op results.. they were met and exceeded! All staff from the first visit, operation day and post op has been extremely informative and kind. If you are thinking of Seattle Facial for an option, look no further. Extremely happy with my results only 1 month post op! I had a closed rhinoplasty as I did not want scars on the outside of my nose and a septoplasty for breathing. Absolutely love the softer appearance to my face now. Thank you Dr. Joseph Shivdler!
I had a rhinoplastic procedure completed by Dr Shvidler and can confidently say I am in love with my results. I’m currently two weeks post op and already living the results, can’t wait to see when it’s fully healed. Dr Shvidler and his team are incredible to work with. They are great communicators who actively look to provide upmost satisfaction. From start to finish I’ve received satisfactory care. I am beyond greatful to Dr Shvidler and his incredible team.
Dr. Shvidler is wonderful! He does a great job explaining what can be done to achieve your results, and is REALLY conservative with his approach, which I appreciate! I have always felt informed and confident in what he will be doing. So much so, I have had friends ask about where I go and after seeing him, they are long term patients who continue to recommend him as well!
I had a primary rhinoplasty with Dr. Shvidler this summer, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! He crafted my nose to meet my personal goals while keeping the look natural. I love the look from all angles now, and my confidence in my overall appearance has been greatly boosted. I’m excited to see how it continues to evolve as it heals over time, and I know I will continue to be grateful to Dr. Shvidler for helping me achieve the look I always hoped for!
I have been a patient for more than 3 years and have received exceptional care from Dr. Shvidlier and his office MA. They go above and beyond when it comes to patient care. He is kind and compassionate. I have needed to get in a couple of times on short notice and they always accommodate me. I always receive exceptional care!
After a biopsy came back positive for melanoma, I was referred to Dr. Shvidler. His office staff called me the same day they received the referral from the dermatologist! I was scheduled to see Dr. Shvidler the next afternoon. I had surgery the following week. He explained the procedure and possible outcomes thoroughly. He met with my daughter and me before the surgery. We both felt confident going into the procedure- Not that my face would be flawless after removal of the tumor, but that he would do his best and the tumor would be completely removed. His care for his patients is thorough and exceptional. His staff was also incredible. For example, I needed FMLA forms returned to my employer and they were usually sent before I left Dr. Shvidler's office. The operating room staff was also amazing! I received excellent care and am proud and grateful our community has such high quality medical care available.
It’s understandable to be concerned about the appearance of your nose after rhinoplasty. Here’s a general timeline and what you can expect as your healing progresses: First Few Days to Weeks: 1. Swelling and Bruising: It’s common to have significant swelling and bruising around the eyes and nose. The tip of your nose might look turned up or distorted due to the swelling. 2. Splint and Packing:If you had a splint or nasal packing, it will typically be removed within the first week. This can significantly change the appearance of your nose. 3. Initial Healing: The first week to ten days is crucial for initial healing. During this time, your nose may look quite different from its final shape. The tip being turned up might be due to acute postoperative swelling. One Month: 1. Reduction in Swelling: Most of the initial swelling will start to subside, but some residual swelling, particularly at the tip, may remain. This can affect the final appearance of the tip. 2. Changing Appearance: As swelling decreases, you may notice that the tip of your nose is still not settling into its final position. This is normal. Three to Six Months: 1. Continued Swelling Reduction: Swelling will continue to diminish over the next several months. The tip of your nose should start to settle into a more natural position as the swelling reduces. 2. Healing Progress:The nose's appearance will gradually improve, and the tip should begin to soften and assume a more natural shape. Almost all the swelling should be gone from the nasal bridge at this point. One Year: 1. Final Results:The majority of the swelling should be resolved, and the final shape of your nose will be more apparent. Full healing and final results can sometimes take up to a year, especially in the tip area. Beyond One Year: 1. The skin soft tissue envelope may continue to shrink-wrap around the new nasal structure and sometimes certain irregularities may appear such as lumps bumps and slight saddling in the supratip. A small revision may be necessary in a small percentage of patients who experience these changes and would like to further refine the nasal appearance

Follow-Up Appointments: Attend all scheduled follow-up appointments with your surgeon. They will monitor your healing progress and can provide insight into whether what you're experiencing is typical. 2. Communicate with Your Surgeon: If you have concerns about the tip or any aspect of your recovery, it’s important to communicate them to your surgeon. They can offer reassurance, adjust any expectations, or provide additional treatments if needed. 3. Patience: Healing from rhinoplasty is a gradual process. The final outcome can take time to become fully apparent. Hope this helps, Dr. Joe
Sorry to hear about your injury. This is a very common sequela of a nasal traumatic injury. You most likely dislocated an upper lateral cartilage from the nasal bone. I would wait at least 6-12 months before considering surgical intervention. Treatment may include placement of a spreader graft on the right side as well as a small only graft and possible shaving some the hypertrophic bone of the nose. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your question. The central part of the bottom of your nose is slightly out of balance and a procedure called columellaplasty could be done to help address the lower part of your nose. Columellaplasty is performed with all of the incisions placed inside your nostrils and would balance the show of nostrils from the side view. it would also give you more lip show.
The length of time it takes for swelling to go down after rhinoplasty surgery can vary from person to person. There are many variables to include your affinity to bruise and swell, thickness of the skin, the amount of work that was done to the nose, surgical approach and medications that are administered around time and after surgery. Generally, the majority of swelling subsides within the first 2-3 weeks after surgery, but it may take several months for all swelling to completely resolve. Immediately after surgery, there will be significant swelling and bruising around the nose and eyes, which can last for a week or two. During this time, it's important to follow your surgeon's post-operative instructions carefully to help reduce swelling and promote healing, such as keeping your head elevated, applying cold compresses, and avoiding strenuous activity. Arnica Montana and oral steroids can sometimes reduce the duration of swelling. After the initial few weeks, the swelling will gradually decrease, and most patients are able to return to their normal daily activities within a few weeks to a month after surgery. However, it can take up to six months to a year for all residual swelling to resolve, and for the final results of the surgery to become fully apparent. Sometimes a surgeon will inject a steroid into the nose to help reduce the swelling. This is done on a case by case basis. It's important to be patient during the recovery process and to follow all of your surgeon's instructions for optimal healing and the best possible outcome.
