Yes, it can, however, I prefer autologous fat transfer for the ease of use, natural look, and cost effectiveness, since it takes a great deal of radiesse to produce the effect. Also, portions of the fat transfered are permanent.

I just had Juvederm Ultra in my cheeks but I need more volume. How long would I have to wait after Juvederm Ultra to add more volume? I would love to hear your opinion. Thank you.
You can, in fact!
Radiesse is injected much deeper and I often layer different products for synergy.
However, you must have confidence in your injector. This approach requires much experience.

Radiesse to the bridge of the nose left me with an unsightly hump! How long must I wait before I can now have plasic surgery (nose job) to correct the situation?
This is a tough problem, however I am currently publishing an article on this conundrum, where a patient who presented to my office after having Radiesse injected into the lower lid. The patient was a Hollywood actress and could not wait the 10- 14 months. We injected bacteriostatic warm saline in and around followed by non-ablative erbium laser treatments and broke the product down in 2 months!
