Jeffrey Kenkel, MD

Dr. Kenkel is one of the best doctors I have ever worked with in any capacity. His office is run by professionals who care about their patients, and it runs so smoothly. Everyone is always on their A game. I had a neck lift, Thermage, upper eye, lower eye, brow lift and ablative laser treatment.
He is cautious about if he will do a procedure and has an easy personality and works with you to decide the best treatments plan. He is the head of plastic surgery at a teaching hospital. I would recommend him to my friends.

I've contemplated and researched this procedure for the last 6 years and finally decided to proceed with the help of insurance. I've always been a little self conscious but over last few years the rashes, back and neck pain, inability to excercise became too great.

Dr. Kenkel and his staff have been amazing! Attentive and always responsive from beginning to end. He's such an artist! I'm very pleased with the process and my results and highly recommend him.

I'm 5'7" and weigh(ed) about 140... size 32F bras were growing tight on me and my breasts just didn't match the rest of my body. I could hide three fingers beneath the sagging and had lost fat on my shoulders from the bras digging in. It was bad enough that insurance covered approximately 90% of the costs. I had the procedure done a few days ago and I can already tell that it was a great decision. I feel lighter, my lower back feels better, and I feel more confident, even in the surgical bra. I have J shaped scars rather than the traditional anchor-shaped. Once I've healed a bit, I plan to come back and add before and after pictures.

I see my doctor today for my first post-op check-up! We're removing the ends of the sutures and doing a general check-in. Here are some before and after pictures. Once the incisions heal, I'll add the "final" product!

I'm thrilled with the results. The scars are much smaller than I expected and are getting less noticeable every week. As you can see, my right incision is giving me some problems, I think it's a minor infection but my doctor says it's nothing to worry about. In the meantime, I'm rubbing Bio-Oil on twice a day. I see my doctor again on Tuesday, I'll keep y'all updated!

Well I won't lie, I'm pretty unhappy today. I've been dress shopping and bra shopping and I'm having all the same problems that I used to have... all the dresses that fit me are too small in the breast area, but the ones that fit my breasts are too large everywhere else. Plus, I got professionally sized, and I'm a 32F... which is exactly what I was pre-surgery. My old bras even still fit. My breasts are starting to sag again (which is normal, I know, but indicative of a problem). I really wanted to go so much smaller, down to a 32C, and I'm so disappointed. I see my surgeon tomorrow for my four month check-in, and I'm not sure what to say.

I don't feel any better about my body, in fact, I feel worse. I may just be in a bad place right now, but I feel like all I got out of this surgery were some nasty scars and a lighter bank account. Have any of you guys been through this? I really don't know what to do, I'm just sad. Advice is welcome. Pictures are attached.

I lost 175 pounds following a gastric sleeve, and had significant amounts of loose skin. Dr. Kenkel did a lower body lift and breast lift on Wednesday morning. It is now Saturday, and I'm THRILLED with the results, the surgical team he put together, the care at the hospital, the pain management, and everything else. He was patient with lots of questions, and I couldn't be happier.

Three weeks post-op, and still doing far better than expected. I've not needed narcotics for two weeks, and no OTC pain meds for a week. Keeping up with protein -- LOTS of protein -- has helped enormously. I tire VERY easily, and need 12-16 hours/day of bed rest. But I'm managing on my own for the most part.

OK, about 7 weeks out now. STILL really happy, and back to a full load of activities. Spent 5 days at a training class in California, got back last night, and now I'll spend a week with a client in the Dallas area. I'm still very swollen, especially in my thighs, but my doctor has been pretty good about renewing diuretics prescriptions when asked. I'm still really pushing protein, and trying to get lots of rest. I have started running some, and hope to begin with weights again in the next week or so.

Non surgical way of getting rid of excess belly fat and kept it off through diet and exercise.

This review is not necessarily against Dr. Kenkel as much as it is on his office manager/assistant who discussed Dr. Kenkel's fees with me. However, the behavior of his staff is a direct reflection of Dr. Kenkel's practice as a whole. Hence, this review. I paid to have an initial consultation with Dr. Kenkel. BEFORE getting to the point of reviewing the 3-D Vector image, his office manager/assistant presented me with the estimate of services discussed. Being in a legal profession, I did not feel comfortable signing anything (I know better!) regardless of whether it is only an estimate, or acknowledgement or otherwise until I have had time to review every word which I did not want to do at that particular moment. The office manager insisted that it was merely an acknowledgement of her reviewing the fees with me. I still didn't feel comfortable signing it and told her that her co-worker (also present) could simply initial the form verifying that the fees were discussed. Aside from the fact that my signature should not be used to validate whether the employees are doing their job of discussing fees, I simply did not want to sign anything which could later be misinterpreted as an acceptance of anything. Long story short, I was escorted out the door without having the courtesy of even finishing the consultation which I paid $125.00 to have. Furthermore, the assistants/office managers of other two surgeons which I met with at the same practice during the prior couple of weeks did not require that I sign their estimate of fees. This tells me that either Dr. Kenkel's assistant/office manager was making up her own rules or Dr. Kenkel requires prospective clients to acknowledge his estimates lest they be escorted out the door before the consultation is over; but, his other two colleagues do not. So, now, I have wasted $125.00 on a consultation and have nothing to show for it except for this review. Interestingly, I was so impressed with Dr. Kenkel that I was seriously thinking of choosing him over his colleagues and even though his fees were the most expensive by far by at least 30% by all other estimates I received from equally qualified surgeons. After the treatment received by Dr. Kenkel's office manager/assistant, I will not have the procedures done at all at this particular practice. She has basically eliminated the other two surgeons at the same practice from my picks even though their respective office managers didn't make me sign their estimates. There are several other highly qualified surgeons (with more than one board certification) who wouldn't show a prospective client the door just because he/she doesn't feel comfortable signing an estimate. No matter how good a surgeon is, a bad employee/staff can single-highhandedly make an otherwise good practice go down the tubes!! Teach your staff members manners and good client interactions skills!!!!

I normally do not write reviews unless it's extremely good or extremely bad and in this case it's horrific. I wouldn't have even rated his service a 1 star but this was the only way to leave a review. I went to Dr. kenkel on Jan. 9th 2017 to get a breast reduction and breast lift surgery. Prior to my surgery, I spoke with Dr. Kenkel on several occasions via email, phone and office visits in reference to my concerns of being scared, breast being to large after surgery or being disfigured. After speaking with him on numerous occasions and expressing my concerns he reassured me that everything was going to be okay and that he understood my concerns and that he was going to take care of me during surgery and not to worry. After a couple of months post op when my breast started to relax I noticed all these deformations were my breast were very uneven and my areola were positioned very far to the left and right of each breast. I also noticed that my left best nipple did not come out anymore. On top of that my left breast is folded under so bad its has a tuck of other breast tissue flapping over under my arm and on the side of my breast. My right breast has a entire stitch like that does not relax its stuck in a upwards position. So I began to make contact with the doctor to express my concerns via email and phone and each time was instructed to come into the clinic. After paying my co pay to revisit each time to express these areas of concerns I received to same response your breast are fine you have to give them time to heal is only been a couple of months they are still swollen and need to relax I had to stitch you up like this due to your skin was tight it will relax don't worry. At the 5month mark I went in and showed him again what I was seeing and the only response I was given is the insurance is not going to pay for you to have another breast reduction but I will submit an appeal but we do have something revision packages that you can pay for to cover a revision. The appeal was submit to my insurance and denied. When questioned my insurance why the appeal was denied, I was told do to the way the appeal was written, it was written as a want and not a medical need so it was denied. It's been 9months now and my breast has not gotten any better it has gotten worst.I have reached out to Dr. Kenkel several more times via email to try and work with him and come up with a resolution on how to fix this problem all I wanted was for my breast to be corrected and look nice that's all I was asking of him. I've even attached pictures to my email, called to the office to have him contact me and to no avail no response. Another thing is its not that the insurance company want pay for it because I have since went to another doctor taken care of all the paperwork and have been approved for some corrections its just he do not want to fix this mess he has made... Ladies please please DO NOT DO NOT ALLOW DR. KENKEL TO DO YOUR BREAST REDUCTION SAVE YOUR SELF THE TROUBLE THAT IM GOING THROUGH.. I am so depressed about my breast and how they look. I am embarrassed to take off my shirt or my bra I wear it every day every single min even to sleep. I don't not feel any kind of womenly appeal about my self anymore. This was the worst decision of my life. I can't stand to look at myself in the mirror now.

Hi everybody! I am so excited to find this forum! I am scheduled to have my surgery September 27th and it's all I can think about. I've had large breasts since puberty (yikes!) and since having my daughter, they've grown larger. After suffering with tension headaches and shoulder pain for years and not knowing the cause, it finally clicked. So back in March I scheduled a consultation with a plastic surgeon at UT Southwestern Medical Center (where I work). He said I was an excellent candidate and I would benefit greatly from the surgery. I then discovered that a friend of mine had used the same doctor and while she did recommend that I try a different one, I decided to stick with my doctor. His portfolio is excellent, as is his bedside manner. Why, just today, I e-mailed his assistant with concerns regarding anesthesia awareness and he replied that I could contact him directly with any questions. I did, and he put my mind at ease.


I am now a 42DD and I would like to be a small C, large D (at the extreme displeasure of my husband; i turned him into a "boob man").
I have the full support of my friends and family (including my husband, even though he says he is going to miss "them" lol!), but I need other women who have been or are going through the same thing. I really look forward to getting to know you all.

I'm having my breast reduction with Dr. Kenkel in Dallas, TX on 3/16/20. My current size is a 44DDD. After my second child my girls just doubled in size. My husband loves them and I wish I could get them smaller without surgery because he loves my nipple but unfortunately I have to have surgery. It's not many reviews on my doctor. I found a bad one that TERRIFIED me then I found a really good one on YouTube that he did last year that calmed my nerves. I'll be keeping you guys posted. I'm also preparing for a BBL with Dr. Jung in Houston so I'll post about that after I knock this out.

It’s 10:30 pm and I had to be at the hospital at 5:30am and I can’t sleep!!! I’m not nervous just excited and ready to see my outcome. My doctor called me today and asked if I felt comfortable having surgery with everything that going on right now “Coronavirus” I said yes I feel good. He said him and his staff will take good care of me to ensure I’m good and safe. I know after surgery I’m going to be inside my home for 3 weeks just to heal and recover. That made me feel so much better about my procedure. I’ll be back with another update. Keep me in your prayers!!!

Today I had my surgery at 7am with Dr. Kenkel. All I remember was getting marked up then being pushed to the operation room. Next thing I know I’m waking up and seeing my husband and the nurses in the room. Pain was horrible!!! It still is, I felt nauseous after the anesthesia so I couldn’t really stand or walk. On a scale from 1 to 10 the pain without medication is a 10 and with medication it’s a 4. My left nipple is not sticking out like my right on is so I’m concerned about that. The area Where he did Lipo is swelled up so it’s sticking out a lot and it looks weird so I need that to go down. Overall as of now I’m ok with my results. I know Im healing and things have to adjust. Ladies please let me know if my boobs look normal???

Today marks 1 week since my surgery. I'm still in a lot of pain and my left breast hurts more than my right. I still don't like how my breast are looking but I know it takes time. My right breast is softening up, my left breast is still hard. I still have a lot of swelling but I can see where they're forming back like normal breast. I still don't have any feeling in my nipples. My right nipple looks good but my left nipple still hasn't popped back out yet. Overall I'm just taking one day at a time and expecting amazing results!!!

The office staff was incredibly rude. When I arrived for my consultation, they did not even have my proper procedures marked down for discussion! Dr. Kenkel did not seem to mind that I had a bad experience when I mentioned it to him. My consultation was unprofessional at best and he seemed hurried to get me out and give me pricing so he could go on to the next patient.
