I had a mini tummy tuck 2 months ago and Im pleased with the results however the dr ask me if I wanted to have revision surgery on my scar after I have healed of course.I have a normal horizontal scar and also a vertical scar where my belly button was and there wasnt enough skin to remove it all.I have a new belly button. He said he could get that vertical scar alot shorter and do a little more lipo.Im worried if he removes more skin it will be too tight but I would love this scar to be smaller.
if you are happy with the result, why change anything. there are possible complications with any surgery.
My scars are hypertrophic and unsightly. I am overall pleased with the breast aug but the scars make me feel like I've swapped one set of issues for another. I am using silicone strips but am not satisfied with the results. My surgeon is sort of dismissive about them and just want me to wait it out. Do most surgeons provide kenalog/cortison shots post-op or is it common to have a surgery and then have to find another doc to take care of the scars? Please post suggestions for my scars.
scars take six months to a year to folly mature. changes in color and contour as well as positioning are what draw attention to scars. i would continue with the silicone and or mederma. be patient,
I had a shave biopsy done on my cheek for a mole that was flat on the surface. It has left me with a round hole the size of a pencil eraser. It has been 13 weeks and still looks bad to me. Will this ever level out or what can be done to fix it with out having an excision done to correct it. One end of the scar sticks up a little more which seems to be making the shadowing of the scar more noticeable.
Many times we are left with unsightly scars which are indented after removal of skin lesions, traumatic injuries, or after surgical procedures. Once the scar is allowed to "mature" for a period of 6-8 months it can be evaluated for revision. Many times indentations can be fixed by filling them with fat. Fat is harvested from the abdomen, packed in a syringe, and injected under the skin to fill the "void". Ne further incisions are usually necessary. It is an excellent procedure, and I have had much success. Good Luck, Dr. Corrado
